A key aspect of the North Brisbane Basketball mission statement is to develop our coaches skills as well as players.  This has been reinforced even further by feedback from members at our vision 20sixteen Strategic Planning meeting as we focus on building a winning culture at our club.  Dragons Basketball has sponsored a Level 1 Coaches course at the PCYC clubhouse on January 14 and 15.

This is the second time our Club has conducted its own course at our Clubhouse and something we will continue to offer our coaches subject to meeting minimum participant requirements. With the support of 3 coaches from other Clubs, we were able to muster enough participants to conduct the courses.  Timing the course before the commencement of training and games means coaches can now utilise additional skills learned in their training regime.

As a part of their "homework", coaches were asked to provide a wishlist of resources and prioritise those.  We will now investigate funding to improve resources available to coaches at training.

We thank our coaches for giving up their leisure time and committing to develop their own skills and passing on their own experience to our players.
