Our Club participates in the Brisbane Basketball Inc (BBI) competition which is played at the Vince Hickey Stadium in Auchenflower.

Juniors

 

The Championship Season encompasses terms 2 & 3 of the school year and is the main competition for Brisbane Basketball. The competition takes a break during the June/July school holidays and recommences at the start of term 3.  This season ends in a final series just before the September school holidays.

The Summer Season commences at the start of term 4 of the school year and finishes at the end of term 1. Some players and coaches choose to take a break during this season and it is used by the Club to start preparation (organising teams & coaches) for the following year.

Seniors

Like the junior format, there are 2 distinct seasons for seniors to play in. The Summer season generally commences in the middle of January and continues through to the start of July.

The Winter season commences shortly after this and runs through until the end of November.

The Greater Brisbane League (GBL) is Brisbane’s premier “A” grade competition in which clubs from all over Brisbane and South East Queensland come to the Vince Hickey Stadium to participate. The Greater Brisbane League in 2002 was expanded to include an Under 23 Men’s and Women’s competition. Dragons Basketball Club fields very competitive teams each year in the Greater Brisbane League competition. The GBL winter season finishes with a very exciting final series in the middle of August.
