A New Year - A Fresh New Approach: vision 20eleven Breathing New Fire

North Brisbane Basketball Assn Inc (Dragons Basketball) has today released their vision 20eleven 3 year strategic plan.

In releasing the plan, Club President Tom Coogan praised the Club saying “I have been a member of this Club’s Committee for some 8 or more years and also a founding member of another Club and this is the first time I have been involved with such a well structured process to develop and guide the medium term future direction of a Club”. Mr Coogan was proud of the work of the Committee and members who contributed saying “We have taken the time to document our Club’s mission and the vision and values that set Dragons apart from other Clubs. Whilst, in the past, there have been some inherent unstated values and principles that defined the Club, these are now clearly documented and well publicised to give the Committee a foundation for implementing ‘best practice in sport’ policies and strategies.”

President Coogan also commented on the implementation of the plan saying “We have decided on a number of strategies and action points and a priority program to achieve those strategies. Our priority strategy for 2009 is to enhance support for coaches with a number of action points already under review to achieve that outcome. Whilst we have already made announcements on a number of commitments for 2009, we believe that those that relate to supporting our coaches are critical to our plan and our implementation of that plan”.

Mr Coogan was unqualified in his support for coaches; “Our coaches commit an enormous amount of volunteer time and their skill and we want to focus on supporting them more in delivering the training and education players of all ages need and deserve.  Many will be surprised at the initiatives we are embarking upon and the fresh new approach to the Dragons Club vision and brand.”

“I have to commend the Club’s Committee who led the planning process and members that contributed to achieving this momentous and historic outcome” said Coogan.

Further strategies and action points will be announced once priorities have been established.
