U18 QACI Dragons record their first win

After 2 years of trying, our Under 18 QACI dragons joint venture team have finally chalked up their first win .. just!!  With regular coach, Tom Coogan, taking a night off at the Reds Stormers game, the QACI boys scored a 2 point win over the Vikings team, steered to their first victory by fill in coach, Daniel Donnellan.

With 5 teams in their competition, the QACI’s now have the possibility of winning their first game AND making the playoffs all in the one season!  The QACI Dragon side is a joint venture between Dragons Club and the Queensland Academy of Creative Industries.  Because the Academy’s focus is on Creative subjects for their students, some of the players have joined the sport of basketball for the first time through this team and generally excel more at academic subjects.

Congratulations to the boys for finally achieving this milestone and experiencing the joy of winning – may they go on to win the championship!.  Perhaps the regular coach has been the kiss of death until now!!
