Well done to the 12 Phoenix players that competed at the Bendigo Braves 3 X 3 tournament held at the Bendigo Stadium Thursday January 9th.  The event was a full day event that kicked off at 10am and went through out the day up until 4pm.  It was a great event to watch with a 3 point shooting contest during the day and also the ever-popular dunk contest on lowered rings!!

Competing in the U14 girls division was the "Purple Haze" members included, Hayley, Holly, Kaidi and Lily.  In the U16 girls division there were two teams that competed.  "Phoenix Purple" consisting of Emily G, Keisha, Phoebe and Shardae. Also in the 16's division was the "Phoenicians" made up of Anna, Bryanna, Gabby and Madi.  The girls were able to play officiated matches against other local Bendigo players, but also players from Macedon, Castlemaine and Horsham making for a great day!!

"Phoenix Purple" enjoyed some mixed results for the day, while both the "Purple Haze" and the "Phoenicians" made it to the final, with both falling short and finishing Runners Up for the event in their division, a fantastic effort from all players!

From all accounts, players and parents included, everyone had a fantastic day, with lots of fun had and some very good games of basketball enjoyed by both players and spectators.  A big thank you to the Bendigo Basketball Association, in particular Nathan Williams and Craig Green, for organizing a fantastic event that was enjoyed by many!  And also to the parents for their support, cheering skills and scoring abilities on the day :)
