Life Membership awarded

Graeme & Chris Moore #1

The Sharks Basketball Club was formed in 1991 and for every year since, Graeme Moore and his wife Christine, have been actively involved in the running of the Club.

For all but three of those years, Graeme has served as the Club President, making him one of the longest serving office bearers in basketball in Geelong.  Whilst not just being satisfied with being the President, Graeme has been active in coaching teams, coordinating uniforms, taking training, opening the stadium, manning the scorebench, sweeping the floors, cooking sausages, running raffles, chairing meetings and generally running around making sure that every need of the members of the Sharks community is taken care of.

As well as this, Graeme also serves on the Basketball Geelong Tribunal and the Competitions Committee.

Behind every good man is an even better woman and in this case, Christine has also been a tireless Club servant along with her hardworking and dedicated husband.  Chris has undertaken every role imagineable for the Club - Secretary, Treasurer, Uniform Coordinator, Sponsorship, Marketing, Team Manager and more roles that haven't even been given names yet.  She has taxied their three children to games all around the place at different times, to different stadiums and on different days.  But probably her most challenging role - is being Graeme's General Manager when he is President.

Sharks Basketball Club would like to acknowledge Graeme and Chris for their outstanding service, by awarding them the very first Life Membership of the Club.  The awarding of Life membership of any organization is never taken lightly and shows a significant contribution to the running of the Club for a considerable length of time.
