The Auskick teams played out a good game this morning. At the same time we were hosting the Lion's and Tiger's U11 game, so thank you to the parents who assisted in running the skills session and running the game.
For the Under 9's the game was very exciting. The wind had picked up and was blowing slightly across ground but definitely favouring the southern goals. In the last quarter thanks to the assistance of the wind and Omar from the Lions, two of the eagles players kicked their first goals for the season. Well done Blake and Ben!!.
The boys who played in defence were able to hold back most of the Lion's attacking play, with both alec Steele and Xavier Pearce taking good marks in defence. The wind helped the boys get some big kicks out towards the centres.
Michael Pearce had a few great runs through the centre and Kurt Dawes had his usual never say die approach to the game trying hard everywhere. Carey Chapman was doing a good job getting himself involved which is great to see. Connor McManus and Cooper Nicholson were very good providing options for their teammates and trying to get the ball through the centres.
It was a tough call but in the end the Eagles best players were nominated as Cooper Nicholson, Blake Keenan, and Ben Cowling. Well done boys!
