This was the last weekend of the school holidays, and after a 2 week break it was exciting to get back into the sport. However, by the time the Auskickers were due to start we realised that only 4 families had turned up. We were not sure if the low turnout was due to school holidays or people being laid low with colds / flu but there had also been a low turnout on the Wednesday for training.
The Auskickers had a good go and almost all had a really good time. Low player numbers also meant low parent helpers so some of the players were a bit lost.
The Under 9's were alos short a few players and had to borrow from the 'Roos. The boys tried hard again, but were outclassed by a team who had more experience in stringing a few passes together. All the boys put in big efforts though, and this is a big indication of the heart of these players, that they can keep trying during a game when they are chasing the opposition. Well done to all the boys.
The best 3 of the day were Blake Keenan, Cooper Nicholson, and Alec Steele. It was Cooper's first game in U9, and he performed very well.
