Junior Registration & Information Day - To be advised (October 2014)
Essendon Doutta Stars Football Club runs one of the most successful and professional junior football programs within the league. In the lead up to season 2012 we have vacancies in all age groups and we are now accepting expression of interests from new players. Before you decide if footy is right for you and your child, please read on, hopefully this will answer all of your questions.
Current Numbers
The Essendon Doutta Stars Football Club currently has vacancies in all age groups. However when numbers become tight, we do stop taking new registrations when we reach a certain point. So it is important to get in touch with us as soon as you decide to play footy.
Match Day & Training Information
Training is conducted twice a week on Wednesday and Friday evening for under 10s and 12s. Games are played on Sundays. So it is 3 times per week that players are expected to be available for football.
Under 8's
The Essendon Doutta Stars Football Club is introducing Under 8 football in Season 2015. Under 8’s is a modified football competition which is a perfect step for kids coming out of Auskick. Under 8’s football will be run every Sunday morning at 8.30am starting in April 2015. For further information please visit our U8's page on the Junior Football Menu.
Under 10's
Children wanting to start playing junior football must be a minimum of 7 on January 1st 2015. Because we have 3 under 10 sides accross the age group, we are in a unique position to be able to allow children as young as 7 to play competitive football. The multiple teams allows us to be able to place children into teams which match both their age and skill level. Should your child be too young to start playing competitive football, we would recommend taking a look at our Auskick.
Development
Essendon DSCF is committed to developing players to acheive their highest potential whilst always having a focus on fun and fairness in all junior football. All of our coaches are accredited with the AFL coaching accreditations, so meet the requirements for coaching junior players.
Benifits
Junior Football is all about kids making new friends, having fun and learning and developing their football skills. Junior sport of any type can help children improve their fitness and their overall health and wellbeing.
