Good afternoon all,
Well it seems Keilor is the real deal in 2014. They have put together a side that will compete with the top end of town, they have 2 class ruckmen, they have a back 6, midfield and some scoring power up forward.
It was a dirty day weather wise, it was a dirty day for us. We were like a keg of Guiness Saturday, we didn’t travel well at all. After a real good effort the week prior, we were unsettled by a few changes to our side, the need to get a few aspiring kids back from Coburg didn’t help a great deal either. It’s hard for those guys to fit in on a short term basis, and it’s hard for our side to follow a game plan that not everyone is efficient with. Let’s put last Saturday down to a blip in the road and look forward to this coming weeks home game against Maribyrnong Park.
Maribyrnong Park had a good win last week at home against Doutta’s, ‘Panther’ was on a spying mission and a few things are clear. Marby still rely on Brodie Holland, they also rely on Trent Lee, they have added some class to the midfield in Robbie Castello, Daniel Johncock & Nathan McLellan. Daniel Schibeci runs the ball well out of defence. They are not a tall side but they move the footy through the middle quite well and rely on their midfield for much of their scoring power. They have a midfield that catch’s and kill’s their own, they win their own footy, they kick their own goals. Our midfield will be aware that they will need to play accountable footy, our back 6 will need to support one another. Marby put on 20 goals last week which is no mean feat, we need to be aware of this and we need to be like OAK milk on the scoreboard, hungry thirsty. ‘Panther’ reckons we have the midfield motor to match them, we just have to present for 4 quarters, finish well in front of the big sticks and we can have a third win for the year.
Our reserves have a real opportunity to get together and have a win, Marby reserves are in a similar position to us, injuries have crippled the seniors numbers which puts major pressure on the reserves side. Gonz, if ‘Panther’ is allowed to wear his suit on the ground like ‘teenwolf’ he could possibly fill in a spot up forward!!! Check out the senior runner, he can slot into a half back role I’m sure – Whitnall had to play reserve’s at Glenroy last week.
If anyone has a spare couple of hours at noon Saturday, Gonz could sure use some support be that a runner, water person or board man, yell out if you’re available.
Terra’s ‘Future Force’ U18’s have a game that they can use to turn their season around. A win Saturday puts us back in amongst the group so all the best to the boys, The U18 2’s play Moonee Valley up the road at Cole Reserve so good luck also to Wayne and his boys.

HEAVY METAL SCRAP
Heavy Metal Scrap is a new business run and owned by the Club. We would really appreciate all our members, supporters & Sponsors getting behind this initiative and spreading the word.
There is a flyer attached, please read it and pass it on to anyone/everyone you believe can help us, more importantly anyone that we can help, be that a one off pick-up or a structured contract.
This is not a venture the Club has gone into lightly, this is a venture it has entered into in an effort to strengthen the Pascoe Vale Football Club’s financial viability for the long term. It’s for the kids of today that we want to see become senior footballers at Panther Park, it’s for us to succeed in the local community and protect our kids from other Clubs and it is an effort we see as a worthwhile path to keeping costs affordable at YOUR Club - be that bar or canteen prices, membership/s pricing or making big ticket items such as extensions and upgrades possible – it’s for all Panthers. Any/all help will be greatly appreciated

DANE SWAN LUNCHEON – 31MAY 2014
Please find attached a flyer for a ‘Panther luncheon’ with a difference. We are pleased to advise our guest for the day will be Dane Swan.
Not only is Dane a local product, growing up in the area and playing junior footy at Westmeadow’s, he is also a ‘good news’ story.
Far from a high round draft pick he has managed to carve out a magnificent career in AFL football that hit the elite level when he won the 2011 Brownlow Medal
This is a ticketed event and numbers are restricted so please get onto Brian and/or Mark to secure your place/s.
This is a great event and opportunity to bring friends and/or work colleagues or clients along to – don’t miss out.
We take on Avondale Heights this day at home, they have put together a very competitive side in 2014 and this will be a great game of local footy.

More of the same to come girls
Thanks to our Women’s correspondent Sue Cugley we now get a weekly report & a voice
The senior women had a tough Round Two hit out against a well drilled Seaford footy club. Seaford are traditionally a strong Women’s foe, they have 3 senior sides and are one of only 2 Clubs in Victoria able to provide this many sides in the Women’s competition/s. Our girls were gallant, learning a bit about what to expect in the step up to Division 2.
Final scores Seaford 14.15 99 to Pacco 3.2 20.
We will take a lot out of last week’s game and we will need to, our opponent this week is the top side North Geelong who boast a handy percentage of 1631% after two rounds – nothing better than to knock off the top side at home.
If you have a spare hour come and have a look and show some support
NEXT GAME IS AT 2PM @ HOME AGAINST NORTH GEELONG
Our youth girls continued on their merry way Saturday posting a 9.7 61 to ‘no score’ win in the twilight clash @ Keilor. Well done again girls.
There are a number of our girls training with the Interleague Squad, good luck to all those making the effort
