Welcome back Junior Roosters to what promises to be an exciting 2015 Season.
Plans are well under way for the year ahead. Some of our older groups have already hit the pre-season training track, while for the younger age groups your coaches will be making contact very soon on when training will start for this year.
If you’ve driven past JE Moore Park recently you will have noticed the main oval has resembled a construction site as the council have done some ground works, as a result we will have to be creative with our training, our plan is to have the younger groups take over the top oval, once cricket finishes up, while the older groups will be kept in the loop by coaches as to where and when training will take place.
Keep an eye on the web site (Westprestonlakesidefc.com.au), team app or contact the club for details.
The mentoring program will be in full swing again this year as our Senior Roosters come along to pass on some expert tips at training, you never know, David Rodan may teach you a dance step or two along the way.
Registrations are now open online, for all age groups, this is the easiest and quickest way to register with the club, If you're new to the Roosters or need a hand with the online registration then come on down to the club on the 1ST of March from 11 – 1 for our annual registration day.
This year promises to be an exciting one on and off the field, we’ll be fielding teams across all age groups including our 2nd Girls team, in the u12’s to compliment the 15 Girls side.
Our social committee is busy putting the finishing touches to our social calendar for the year, so stay tuned for the dates to put in your diary.
Speaking of Social events, the club has recently been awarded Gold Accreditation in the Good Sports Program, this is a wonderful achievement for our club and testament to the Safe and Friendly environment we provide for your children to play their football. To celebrate this achievement, save the date of April 11 as we kick off the year with a function to celebrate this recognition of our great club.
The season itself kicks off on Sunday April 12 for the Juniors, while the Seniors start the campaign to win the Division One flag on Friday Night the 10th of April at Northcote Park.
I’d like to wish all our teams from Under 9’s to the Senior playing group all the best for season 2015. Let's make it a great one for the Red, White and Blue.
Thanking you
Sean Golledge
Junior President
