After a successful 2004, the club was looking to take the next step in 2005, with much the same side and a very eager senior coach. However, the senior team appeared to go through the motions all year, and whilst there were some very good wins against lower opposition, the teams in the top half were never really challenged by the Redbacks. Whilst Tony Cahir continued as President, senior coach Garry Ramsay called it quits after five years at the club. Little did he know at the time, he would be back two years later to endeavour to do what he couldn’t in his first five years.
