Panton Hill took on the Forest Hill Zebra's on the weekend up at Cracknell Reserve as a replacement game following Thornton-Eildon folding and cancelling the away game originally planned. Whilst the Zebra Reserves were clearly far too strong, the senior contest was a much more even game and and good last hit-out.
Another picture perfect day up at Cracknel Reserve, saw the Hills tackle Eastern Footy league team Forest Hill. With plenty of inclusion’s back into the team it was a much stronger Hills outfit that took to the field. The game was played in great spirits and was a super contest from the outset, with both sides attacking the footy hard. It was an evenly contested game throughout with both sides ending the day with the same amount of scoring shots, however Forest Hill were able to put them through the bigger sticks more often than the hills could, eventually running out winners by a couple of goals.
It was an even spread of good players for the Hills, but worth mentioning a couple of solo efforts. Big Teddy Bear kreymborg rucked well all day and was able to kicked 3 majors, Pratty found himself in a new position down back and fought hard all day, and Darcy in his comeback game provided good run from defence. Highlight of the day had to be the big fella selling some candy to a much smaller opponent, getting around him running inside the 40 and totally shanking the kick.
Bring on round 1!!
