Changes to the Thomastown team for Round 4 were in came Calafiore, Zakkour, Volpe, Mucitelli & Stavridis for Micevski, Abela, Break, Chadwick & Nicholas Horman.
Thomastown started the scoring with a goal to Rachrache after a long lead. Shortly after West Preston were on the board. West Preston were keen to just chip the ball around and to hold on to possession, an error saw Calafiore chip in and from 25 metres out wasted an opportunity to put Thomastown ahead. A tackle and free to Osei-Duro saw Thomastown register their second goal, this was followed up with a goal on the run to Volpe to give Thomastown a 14 point lead. West Preston again went forward and made the most of their opportunities and were able to kick consecutive goals, while the Thomastown side continued to waste their opportunities. At quarter time West Preston went in with a 6 point lead.
The second quarter was a stalemate for the first 5 minutes with both sides struggling to gain any momentum. West Preston continued on with the short chip, possession game while Thomastowns disposal was letting them down. A centring ball from Rachrache saw Pendelbury open Thomastowns scoring for the second quarter. West Preston gradually got on top from half way through the quarter and were able to kick five goals to Thomastowns two for the quarter to go in with a 29 point half time lead.
The third quarter saw both teams struggle to get any rythym going. Thomastown was falling down across half forward and were struggling to make any impact. West Preston increased their lead with a four goal to two qurter to go in at three quarter time leading by 43 points.
The final quarter was all West Preston with Thomastown failing to make any impact. West Preston piled on nine goals to two for the quarter to run out convincing winners by 86 points. Jacob Osei-Duro with 3 goals was the major contributor up forward, while the best include Ball, Pendelbury, Nicolo and Manley.
The seconds had a slow start and went down by 123 points. The goals were shared amongst seven players and the better players were Farchione, Crompton, Deagostino and Virgona. Numbers are starting to get better and hopefully with the training the results will come later in the year. Congratulations to Michael Deagostino on playing his 100th game for the club.
The Under 19s again got off to a slow start which cost them eventually going down by 24 points. Wasted opportunities in the first quarter again letting them down. Stavridis with 4 and Toun with 2 goals, while the best were Raykovski, Fowler, Whittingslow and Stavridis.
