Chriz Zurek was playing his 100th game for the club and Matthew Borg played his first Senior game for the club in Round 5 against Fitzroy Stars. Paul Brigg's missed out through injury.
On Friday night the Netball side returned to the winning list with a 22 to 11 win over Heidelberg West. They are currently third on the ladder and play Lalor this Friday night at RMIT starting at 7pm.
On a warm and sunny afternoon in an entertaining game of football Thomastown were able to defeat Fitzroy Stars 22.11.143 to 16.7.103.
The first quarter saw Fitzroy Stars on the board with the first goal of the quarter before Thomastown responded with the next three goals. It was a free flowing game with both teams getting plenty of run through the midfield, Folino and Nicolo giing Thomastown plenty of drive forward. Scwabl was proving to be a major target up forward and at quarter time Thomastown led 5.1 to 4.3.
The second quarter saw Thomastown increase the pressure over the ground and were able to capitalise on the good work by the mdfield. A seven goal to four quarter had Thomastown leading at half time by 24 points.
The third quarter opened up completely with both sides determined to attack at all costs. Goals were coming quickly at both ends. Fitzroy Stars narrowed the gap early back to 7 points before Thomastown were able to regain a four goal margin by half way through the term. Fitzroy Stars continued to attack and Thomastown were able to kick 7.2 for the term to Thomastown's 6.5 to go in trailing by 21 points at three quarter time.
The final term saw both sides tire due to the warm conditions and Thomastown were able to continue on with a further 4 goals for the quarter to Fitzroy Stars one to finish the game victors by 40 points.

Next week see all three sides play away at Whittlesea and the netballers play Lalor B at 7pm Friday night.
