THE RON DENMEAD STORY
The Ron Denmead story is one of the most unusual and amazing stories ever to be told about a footballer in the Diamond Valley Football League. It is the amazing story of a man coming out of retirement at the age of thirty to create goal kicking history in the Diamond Valley (since the war) - it is the most unusual story of a backman turning into the best full forward Montmorency has ever had and probably the best the Diamond Valley has ever seen.

In The Beginning
Back in the 1922 the Diamond Valley Football League consisted of six teams, Greensborough, Diamond Creek, Templestowe, Eltham, Warrandyte and Kangaroo Ground. In 1923 Heidelberg and Hurstbridge joined the League and by the end of that year the Captain of Greensborough, Harold Hodgson, decided to give away playing for Greensborough and attempted to form a team from Montmorency.

July 10th 1954 Lakeside Rovers v Montmorency
Found recently in great condition was the football record from July 10 1954. In those days the record was an eight page leaflet with advertising and the information for only the game being played, which just happens to be Lakeside Rovers and Montmorency.

Team of Champions 1924-2000
In 2000, the start of the new Millenium, Montmorency along with most other clubs chose their team of the century. It was decided that as Montmorency had not operated for 100 years, we would call ours "Club Champions".

Ron Smith Trophy Best & Fairest 1st XXI
The Ron Smith trophy is awarded to the player adjuged the Fairest and Best during all games including finals of the Home & Away season each year

The Tom Bagshaw Trophy is awarded to the player in the reserves that is voted the Fairest and Best player during the home & Away season

Frank Paterson Trophy 3rd XXI Best & Fairest
Frank Paterson Trophy awarded to the 3rd's player adjudged the Fairest and Best player of the club during the Home & Away season each year

JIM BARDEN AWARD
The Jim Barden Award is given in the memory of the late Jim Barden who would sacrifice everything in the name of the club. The award is given to the player who may not win the best and fairest trophy but will always do those one percent things that define the difference between winning and losing. The Senior Coach awards this trophy.
