Rosella’s Crowing
Cheltenham flew out of the blocks on Saturday with a 7 goal to 1 opening quarter. Our defence had no answers as the Chelt forwards were constantly on the end of some good work up the ground. However, the first break allowed us time to regroup and emerge a much more competitive unit.
The damage was done however, but one pleasing aspect was that a 39 point quarter time deficit was only extended to 43 points at days end.
Gav was terrific again as our most dangerous forward and gave us plenty in the middle along with Nigel. John Mc was manful against bigger opponents in defence whilst Danny McKee provided a good mobile target up forward, again fighting out of his weight division.
The reserves were also up against it, with Chelts reserves having played finals for many years. We battled hard but were no match, going down by 60 points. Thanks again to our loyal band of ring ins who help out on short notice, Great to see Luke Swan back in the best along with Marc Fullarton, Tate McKee and Ryan Forsyth.
