A slow start against the wind put us on the back foot from the opening bounce. The hosts moved the ball quickly and were efficient around the goals.
Ben Stacey gave us a lift in the ruck and we were able to slow down the goals for the bad guys. The supply was too much for our backline.
Jack Allender moved into the middle and played his best game for the club. Andrew Do played a fine hand in defence and through the guts. Pete Heng was brave as always and Tristan Potts could hold his head up on a disappointing day.
The reserves moved into third with a gutsy win over Highett. We wasted some chances in the first term, managing a small lead at the first break. We trailed for most of the next two quarter before kicking two unanswered goals in the last quarter, taking the points in a low scoring affair.
Luke Wenke was superb down back on a very good player. Mitch Latimer, Craig Keenan, Cam McLeod and Sareth Suon were all instrumental in the win. Coach Chris Lacey slammed on two majors as did uber veteran Paul Riley.
A hamstring injury to the coach and a nasty ankle injury for Matt Devereaux soured a good performance. Get back soon lads.
