We had the kicking boots on early against Black Rock. Glenn Rees and Matt Thompson both slotted two each in the opening quarter, enabling us to take a two goal lead at the first break.
Black Rock would not lie down and narrowed the lead in each of the next two quarters. The final stanza belonged to the good guys as we piled on 5 goals, whilst holding the visitors scoreless.
Andrew Do and Matthew Ork were superb in defence. Craig Keenan, Todd Wills and Brad Dight provided a great contest along with Pete Heng through the middle. Our forwards enjoyed their most productive day for the season, kicking 14 goals. Skipper Matt Thompson (below) finished with 5 and Sam Blackburn grunt work earned him 3 goals. Justin Lim and Glen Rees kicked two apiece.
The reserves had a shocker, failing to take their chances against the lowly placed visitors. Mitch Latimer, Tristan Potts and Dan Barret were among the best.
