It took us a quarter to adapt to the heavy conditions presented to us at Skye. It was to prove costly as the hosts hit the ground running, piling on five unanswered goals in the first term.
We were able to even up in general play after the break, but scoring would prove difficult as the conditions deteriorated. Our effort was generally good but the more efficient hosts made us pay for our lapses.
It was the older heads in Dousty, Fordy, Gav and Starky that handled the conditions better, whilst Monas and Dylan Bramble were far from the worst. It was not a great spectacle as a match but we need to take some lessons from it if confronted with those conditions in future.
The reserves were savaged by a bout of injuries and unavailability and were well beaten. Thanks to all the lads that fronted up, particularly those who helped out at short notice.
