Gavin Vassallo collected a club record fifth David Hall medal as club best and fairest at the annual presentation night, held at Southern Golf Club. The veteran club captain polled in 15 matches, finishing on 28 votes, 6 clear of vice-captain Matthew Thompson. It was the same two players in the quinella in 2012. Justin Doust finished in third on 20 votes. Ruckman Danny Wilson received the coaches’ award and David Monaghan was recognised as the most improved player.
In presenting Gavin the medal for the fifth time, Club Legend David Hall had no hesitation in describing as the best player the club had seen in its 52 years.
The other highlight of the evening was the honouring of Lukas Bray and Jody Hole with Life Membership. Both have been long time and significant contributors to our club, and their accolade was well deserved and received.
