Playing under lights infront of a porocial crowd we kicked the first goal and never let up. The lads even managed to keep South Yarra goaless for the entire first half. Coach Clint Einsiedel was very happy with our young side's performance after losing some experienced players over the off-season "I couldn't be happier with the start we've made tonight. We had a game plan and the boys stuck to it 100 per cent of the time" he said.
It was great to see some of the emerging players going into their third and fourth seniors seasons being heavily involved in the win. We showed plenty of run entering the forward 50 and made some impressive moves from the half back line which resulted in great goals.
Next week the boys face a tougher test as we head down to Hampton to play on a small ground. Coach believes the boys will continue to impress "The boys will go in super confident after this performance and that can be a good thing. We have to learn how to handle confidence and sometimes youe need it to believe in what you are doing on the football field" he said.
