We played away at Greensborough Park today and it was a nice sunny morning with an 1130am start on Mother’s Day.
This was the last of the grading games and the boys were excited as we had a 100% win rate so far. We talked about theimportance of having a combined team role and working together and focussed on a team structure that focussed onspecific goal kicking by specific players. The boys all played very well and we had a very solid win with the results being DH7.16.58 to the other team scoreless at the final siren. The other team were a good team and the scoreboard reflected howwell our boys played, not that the other team played poorly. They were a good team with a good coach, it was just that luck was on our side through the day.
There were many contributors across the team and all the boys had a real crack today. The awards were awarded to Mathew Aldous who had a fantastic game as usual with contributions right across the ground. Aaron Marshallsay was up and about today with effort all day long and a couple of very solid tackles on bigger players and great skills and he also received an award and was awarded Captain for next week. Luca Petardi was the other award winner for the day with great efforts all day. The total team contributed with special efforts from Blair Cass, Jake Wagg, Jack Stirling and Will Rimmington. Adam Verdura constantly impresses with his solid hands and his constantly high work rate. The skills of Mathew Jessup, Luke Crawford were instrumental in the success today with them constantly displaying their courage and finesse. We had a stand in Team Manager in Bruce Cass who did an excellent job. Dave McLean (Asst Coach) was quick on strategic moves and gave the boys some good lessons through the game. We had many parents helping today throughout the game and it was great to see everyone getting involved. It was a great day for the U10s boys and parents.

Round 2
We played Heidelberg at Heidelberg Park and the game was a close game with us kicking 3 late goals to secure the win. Today it was great to see some of our smaller players really make a big impact on the game. We always expect and see good performances out of our top 8 or 9 but today some of the other boys really put in a great effort all day. Well done to the boys today with another win, there were some great efforts from all the boys, constant effort from the Matthew’s, Aaron, Jake, Jack throughout the game was great to watch. Daniel Mills impressed everybody today with a great contribution all day. Mason Palmer maybe smaller than some of the team but he put in a big effort to get the award for courage. The team had a slightly slower start but warmed up as the game went on and all the boys fired in the last quarter. Luke, Blair and Adam are always up and about and didn’t disappoint today with their efforts. Peter put his body on the line as did Jake and both spent a few minutes re-composing on the bench but it was great to see them committed to getting in the pack. Will was almost not able to get to the game fortunately he did as he was critical in the last quarter. Lachlan had a good game with contributions all day. Andrew gave a great captains address and really gave the boys a great start. Oscar Berry was on all day and impressed both coaching panels including being awarded the medal for the day. Zac played a key role in the backline and Kayden contributed across the centre of the ground all through the game. Marcus, Luca and Harry were good to watch with their contributions to the game when we needed it the most. The awards were given to Lachlan, Daniel and Mason.
