Round 3
Doncaster Heights vs Beverly Hills
Today we played Kew-Comets at Bulleen Park. We wanted to get out on to the ground with positive attitude and team spirit.
The game was between two evenly matched teams and we looked forward to seeing just how much the team has improved from last week .
We got off to a great start , moving the ball inside 50 on many occasions, but we could only manage minor scores. Our midfield was full of run- Francesco,Ryley,Nick & Zaid attacked the ball strongly and constantly created opportunities up forward.
Our back line was fantastic, we had winners all over the ground as they ran to supoort each other.
Daniel,Tyson & Matt controlled the back line with fierce tackling and determination, while Rafeal,Robert & George gave us heaps of run out of defence. A good first half and we went in 7 points up.
The 3rd quarter saw a different Beverley Hills, they committed themselves to the ball &,their teammates, and the rewards started to come their way.Although we had our chances , they had pulled back the margin and scores were level at the last.
The last quarter and it was a typical ANZAC day clash, two teams giving their all.
Our last quarters from previous games seem to be our best, and today was no different.
Millsy,Ken Q & Sam C picked up possesions up forward , while it was the pressure from the midfield that stopped Beverley Hills run.
The tackles from Ryley & Nick across the half forward line set up two majors for the quarter. The backline was again outstanding and kept Beverley Hills scoreless for the quarter.A FANTASTIC FINISH-- WELL DONE BOYS
Today was a great all round team effort.Keep up the good work

Round 1
Doncaster Heights (2.5.17) def. by Parkside (25.12.162)
Round 1 saw us travel out to Pitcher Park to take on Parkside, our first game together as a team.
We acknowledge our leadership group of Julian Toppi - Captain & Luke Killey as Vice Captain for the year and congratulated Josh Costin on his 100th game today for the club.
We welcomed new players for their first game Kenneth Quicho, Francesco Lepore, Jackson Mozes and Zaid Al-Gawi.
We confronted a top side today who have been playing together for some time. From the first bounce the Parkside on ballers won their share of the ball and utilised space to their advantage. Parkside had 10 inside 50's with 7 scoring shots, while our boys continued to work hard with 5 inside 50's with Julian Toppi kicking our first goal.
In the 2nd & 3rd quarters our forward didn't get many opportunities up front. We had asked for reward for effort as the key for the rest of the game. Our tackle count continued to rise quarter by quarter and the defenders touch & feel and man on man responsibilities increased and we were thereby able to restrict Parkside inside 50's scoring shots by more than half.
The last quarter our confidence lifted our tackle count and pressure around the ball improved. Our midfield and forward started to find the ball with the inside 50's and scoring shots our best for the game. Inside 50's 6 for 1 goal 3 points with Kenneth Quicho kicking his first goal for the club. Our backline worked hard restricted Parkside to 4 inside 50's and 4 scoring shots down from inside 50’s of 16 and 14 in previous quarters.
