2017 PRE-SEASON TRAINING

Pre-season training commences Tuesday, February 7 at 5pm.

The NBJFC trains twice a week. Either Tuesday or Wednesday Friday.

Stay tuned to hear the days specific teams will train.

Pre-season training is on at Allard Park for all interested junior participants.

When:

November 15 to December 13 - every Tuesday for 5 weeks

Training times for current 2016 team training:

U10 @ 5:00pm-6:00pm with Ufouk

U11 @5:00pm-6:30pm with coach Khal

U14 & Colts @ 5:00pm-6:300pm with coach Torrick

Attire:

Casual, training clothing – t-shirt, shorts, tracksuit – with runners – no footy boots.

Bring along some water.

Come along to regain your fitness& have some fun.

2017 NBJFC REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

The NBJFC committee asks all parents/guardians to PLEASE register your child/children online, via the Footyweb link on this webpage, ASAP. No payment is required until next year.

For planning and recruitment purposes, the committee needs to know numbers for returning players in order to organise existing teams and appoint coaches in preparation for the pre-season training and training proper. Similarly, numbers will provide us with the opportunity to view any shortfalls in our teams, thus highlighting the age groups we must target with our recruitment and advertising campaigns over the next few months.

Remember, registering your child online today signifies an intent to play with the NBJFC; it does not require an immediate financial commitment until our Registration Day on February 24, 2017.

We are seeking expressions of interest from anyone looking to coach one of our teams in 2017.

The NBJFC will pay for league accreditation and relevant coaching courses.

We are about to embark on an intense recruitment drive and are offering football for all age groups.

The boys put in a fantastic effort today! We didn’t come home with the win but we fought hard and were in it deep into the last quarter. Their endeavour was unquestionable.

We are all extremely proud of our boys’ efforts and will be back next year to have another crack …

I would just like to say a huge thank you to Khal and Justin, both of whom have given up a massive amount of time to develop and coach our boys in season 2016, with a terrific outcome to not only bring this team up a division after regrading but also to steer this team into the finals in its inaugural year as a playing group.

I would also like to thank the parents whom also have made it possible this year, without them grassroots junior footy is not possible. In particular the following parents undertook a role for us every single week of the season:

CONGRATULATIONS ADAM MUCILLI

It is with great pleasure that I can share a good news story with you all on this election day:

The YJFL’s Under 14 (2) team won the Intra-League Championships today against the SMJFL - 9.12.66 to 3.10.28.

For the North Brunswick Junior Football Club, it is a day of great achievement & celebration as our Under 14 Champion, Adam Mucilli, was awarded the Best on Ground award this afternoon. Pretty amazing effort!!!

For those of you who are new to our club this year, Adam is also the reigning (2015) YJFL U13 Best & Fairest winner in his division. This young man has swept all before him, winning every individual accolade and the ultimate team award - the 2013 U11 NBJFC Premiership, in which he was captain.

Adam Mucilli is a shining example of what every young boy and girl who plays for the North Brunswick JFC can aim to achieve with hard work, commitment and desire.

Well done, Adam! We are all so very proud of you!

NBJFC CANTEEN FUNDRAISER - JUNE 19 2016

Dust off your aprons and get out you whisks in support of the NBJFC community. Knead that dough because we need that dough!

Are you a muffin extraordinaire? Do you bake the meanest banana bread this side of Moreland road or the best cookies in the North? Are your scones fit for a high tea that the Madhatter would indulge in, or can you make a vanilla slice that would be the envy of all super Mums (and Dads)?

If the answer is YES then we need you! If the answer is NO, well guess what? We still need you! Knead that dough because we need that dough!!!

We are hoping families can support the canteen for next week by baking or donating some items that will be sold on the day.

If you are unable to bake, have no time but are able to support us in any way, then we would also appreciate if you could go and purchase and donate any of the following items that we can sell on the day.

Cans of soft drink and bottled water.
Energy drinks
Bags of chips
Lollipops
Pies that can be bought at the supermarket and Sausage rolls
Chocolate bars NO NUTS
Dons skinless franks hotdogs which are sold at the deli in both Coles and Woolworths

Finally, please dig deep on the weekend of the 19^th of June and buy your morning tea, lunch or afternoon tea at the canteen. Also if you’ve been thinking of inviting friends, relatives or anyone you know to watch your child play footy at any time this season, then this coming weekend would be the perfect day to bring our greater community together to support a great cause.

IN MEMORY OF CHRISTOS DENNY

With the sudden death of COLTS player, Christos Denny a few days ago, our North Brunswick Junior Football Club family was sent into a spin. Differing emotions experienced by so many and the family left behind to grieve what is the most difficult of losses – a young life taken too soon. Tears shed for Christos; unimaginable grief experienced by the family; heart-wrenching empathy felt by every North Brunswick JFC member – young and old; messages of support from far and wide and the staunchest of support and respect displayed by the YJFL for our club & for the family.

We all grieve in different ways. As a club we will support the Denny family through these difficult days ahead and beyond.

Similarly, we have a responsibility to ensure that our COLTS boys are cared for and supported during this emotional time. The boys were given the choice to play or forfeit today’s game. They decided to play in honour of their lost team mate.

It was an emotional day at Binnak Park today. The heavens well and truly opened, shedding tears for our Christos. Jordan Denny played in his brother’s North Brunswick number 11 guernsey and the team bestowed the positions of Captain and Vice Captain onto George Raptis (cousin) and Jordan Denny. Parade St.Damian boys interlinked arms in a circle with our North Brunswick boys, the umpires, the YJFL members – President Peter Haddad, General Manager Peter Nicholls and Lesley Langley – and NBJFC committee members. Peter Haddad spoke to the teams and led the one minute silence for Christos Denny.

Our COLTS boys played with a strength and determination that belied their years. They were not going to lose today. They were one and they played with the spirit of Christos buried deep within their psyche. We even had the fairytale ending with Jordan Denny kicking the final goal of the game late in the final quarter.

North Brunswick 10 3 63

The song was sung loud and proud back in the clubrooms.

There were no medals dispersed today.

Only one medal was awarded: Best and Fairest to our son, our grandson, our nephew, our brother, our cousin, our friend, our team mate - Christos Denny.

This win is dedicated to you, Christos.

May you Rest in Peace young Giant.

With Round 1 less than three weeks away, the North Brunswick Junior Football Club is seeking expressions of interest for a Team Manager in the following teams: Under 10, Under 14 & Under 16.

We are also seeking expressions of interest from anyone who would like to take part in the YJFL’s Sports Trainer course. In last year’s survey, the most popular voluntary position nominated by NBJFC members was that of the Sports Trainer, so if you were one of the many people who wanted to take on this role on game day for your child’s team, this is your chance to nominate yourself.

2015 YJFL BEST & FAIREST PRESENTATION NIGHT

On Tuesday night, the YJFL hosted its annual Presentation Night. Ten players from each division, in each age group, were invited to the ‘Best and Fairest’ evening, so it was a wonderful testament to a small club such as our own with only four teams, to have had four players nominated:

Under 11: Omar Abou-Eid

Under 13: Adam Mucilli, Christos Raptis

Under 15: Julian De Napoli

On behalf of the entire club membership and our supporters, we are very proud of you; you are wonderful role models for our club & we congratulate you all on a wonderful 2015 football season.

A huge congratulation goes out to Adam Mucilli & Julian De Napoli who took out the first prize in their division - winning the 2015 Best & Fairest awards. Both boys are great team captains who have earned the respect of all their team mates and everyone involved in their respective teams.

Adam Mucilli won the 2015 YJFL Best and Fairest award in the Under 13 Black division, polling an extraordinary 42 votes! A well-deserved win to a champion who has been third and second runner up in the last two years and who this year was also selected to represent the YJFL squad.

Julian De Napoli won the 2015 YJFL Best and Fairest award in the Under 15(4) division, polling 23 votes to secure the best 15^th birthday present imaginable!!! He is a champion on and off the field, working hard during the off season to make himself fitter and stronger - and held his own whilst training with the seniors!

We are so very proud of all our champions. Well done, boys!

BUNNINGS BBQ FUNDRAISING – JULY 11, 2015

The North Brunswick Junior Football Club would like to thank the following members for stepping up and helping out the club in running the Bunning Sausage Sizzle at the new Brunswick store today.

Under very harsh weather conditions, the following parents worked very hard to raise funds for all of our kids and we sincerely thank them for their time and contribution to this fundraising event.

MAC PACK FOOTY SUPERCLINIC COMPETITION

McDonald’s has just launched a Mac Pack Footy Superclinic Competition where kids can win a place to participate in a skills and drills session with Mac Pack footy champions, Jack Riewoldt and Jordan Lewis, at Elsternwick Park on Wednesday 8th July!

The competition is open for kids ages between 6 and 12.

Entries close Friday 19th June.

Even though it’s on the other side of town, it’s a great school holiday activity and would be fun to do with teammates.

McDONALD'S PRESTON LAUNCH PARTY

On Wednesday 20th May, McDonald’s Preston will officially be launching their new Create Your Taste™ service platform and delicious new gourmet burgers with an all day Launch Party.

The North Brunswick Junior Football Club has been invited to experience the excitement and help McDonald’s Preston break the global record for the most Create Your Taste™ burgers sold on the one day.

The times allocated to our club are as follows:
4pm-6pm: U9 & U11
6pm-8pm: U13 & U15

Not only is this a good way to raise money for the NBJFC but it is also a great way for all members to get together & socialise for a couple of hours - not to mention a cook-free night for the mums & dads who are scheduled to make dinner on Wednesday night!

For every Create Your Choice™ burger purchased by club members, McDonald’s Preston will donate $5 per burger sold back to the North Brunswick JFC.

All teams will be given Club Flyers at their respective Sunday games tomorrow, that must be handed in at the store on Wednesday night to identify members and record the number of burgers sold. The flyers will look like the picture attached.

This meeting will outline and discuss the responsibilities of the Team Managers and the Game Day roster of the positions/duties that parents must perform, to ensure that all of our NBJFC teams run out on the field successfully each week.

Furthermore, the YJFL rules and regulations in relation to Game Day conduct and operation will be explained. These include issues such as: parental zones –eg. not permitted near players bench; acceptable on and off field language of players and spectators; appropriate clothing for game day; compulsory use of mouth guards and the sizing of jumpers for all players ready for presentation day.

NBJFC – REGISTRATION FOR THE 2015 SEASON

Welcome back to the club for season 2015.

The Giants now have a new committee that is raring to go and is promising an exciting year of football, both on and off the field.

Charlie Jabbour (President), Robert Elezovic (Vice President) and John Hanna (Secretary), are revitalising the club with a fresh, new leadership that is filled with new ideas, passion and enthusiasm. They are moving forward in a positive direction and injecting new life into our already wonderful and successful North Brunswick Junior Football Club.

The club continues to grow with a proposed five teams in season 2015and we are still actively recruiting. So if you have a child, or know a child, that is interested in playing AFL football, or your child has school friends that would like to join a junior football team, come on down to Allard Park on training nights (Tuesday and Friday) and sign up – NOW!

The first game of the season is scheduled for Sunday 12^th April 2015.

All registrations for the NBJFC must be completed by Tuesday, March 31 2015.

FOUR TEAM TRAINERS REQUIRED

The NBJFC is seeking parents to volunteer as trainers for season 2015.

Trainers must be accredited with the Level 1 Sports Trainer certificate, which has now become a prerequisite set by the YJFL.

We require a minimum of four trainers and the club will fund the course.

If you are interested in taking on this role and assisting the teams, please do not hesitate to contact Rob Aminde on his mobile, or approach him at training to organise the process.

2015 COACHING APPOINTMENT - UNDER 15

It is with great pleasure that the NBJFC committee announces the appointment of Jordan Garita as the senior coach for our Under 13 football team for season 2015.

Jordan will take over a team that won a 2013 YJFL Premiership and made the Under 12 Grand Final in season 2014.

Jordan’s junior football was with Strathmore and he has played for both East Keilor and Aberfeldie in the EDFL.

More recently, he played his football for Parkside in the WRFL, with Grand Final experience.

We look forward to Jordan commencing with the Under 13’s for pre-season training.

2015 NBJFC COACHES - EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

Our committee is already in preparation mode for season 2015.

A successful club is both an effective club on and off the ground....
We are looking for parents who have a desire to coach or be the assistant coach to one of our teams for season 2015.

Our aim for season 2015 is to continue to develop our children’s skills, which will lead to greater enjoyment.

The North Brunswick Junior Football Club is in a position to pay for all the successful coaches and assistant coaches league accreditation and to offer an ongoing coaching course with Accelerate.

Please note that we are still to finalise the teams for next season but we would initially be looking for:

With the unforeseen recent resignation of our President Nick Raptis, the NBJFC committee has been working in the background to maintain our strong club culture, structure and stability.

PRESIDENT'S RESIGNATION LETTER

October 31, 2014

Dear Parents/ Guardians and Committee Members,

I Nick Raptis am officially resigning as the president of the North Brunswick Junior Football Club, effective immediately from today, Friday October 31, 2014.

Following recent health issues regarding my father, I am unable to execute my duties. I am no longer able to fulfil my role as your President.

As for coaching for the 2015 season, although I would love to continue to take on the role, unfortunately and regretfully it is out of my hands.

I am proud of what we have accomplished together on behalf of North Brunswick Junior Football Club and hopefully my resignation will open up the opportunity for some other club member to take over and move the club into a more positive direction without division within the Club.

My sole intention was for the children to excel, enjoy and learn to play football. Not once, did I take part for any personal gain or praise.

On a personal note, it has been a privilege to be a part of the committee but in this instance, my loyalty to my family and respect for my father must come first.

I have decided, therefore, to resign and step down as president from the NBJFC Committee.

This has been a very difficult and heart breaking decision.

Finally, I wish you all continued success as you lead our beloved Junior Football Club.

Hi everyone. Some of you may have noticed that the NBJFC Facebook page has been idle since Grand Final week. Unfortunately, we have had to 'block' all friends from posting on the page in an effort to control the huge amount of spam and inappropriate material that has been peppering our football club's Facebook page - all of which has been deemed to be absolutely unacceptable and goes against all of our football club values.

At yesterday's committee meeting, it... was decided that the Facebook page would remain blocked for the protection of the many junior players who are members of our online community.

If you wish to post anything onto our Facebook page, you may still do so but there is a new process that must be followed as you will not be able to post directly onto the NBJFC page.

From now on you must:
1. Post your message/photo onto your personal Facebook page first and then 'TAG' the North Brunswick Junior Football Club.
2. The administrator will 'review' your post & allow it onto the page, thereby controlling unwanted material from entering our site.

Please be patient as the administrator is not on Facebook 24/7.

GREAT NEWS! TELSTRA KIDS GRANT

We are delighted to announce our success in applying for a $1,200 grant from Telstra.

Telstra Kids funds the little things that can make a big difference to kids’ lives, helping kids to play and learn.

Our Telstra Kids grant will be used to contribute to the funding of a new electronic scoreboard at Allard Park.

Huge thanks to Rose Nesci from Telstra, for endorsing our application, which was kindly prepared for us by our Secretary, Robert Aminde.

2014 YJFL Presentation Night – Best & Fairest

Congratulations, Jordan! 2014 YJFL U10 Red Division Best & Fairest Winner.

On Tuesday, August 26, the YJFL hosted its annual Presentation Night at The Centre, Ivanhoe.

Ten players from each division, in each age group, are invited to the ‘Best and Fairest’ evening, so it was a wonderful testament to the performance of our five boys who received invitations to attend: Jordan Nicolo (U10), Christian Tropeano (U10), Tarik Mohamad (U12), Adam Mucilli (U12) and Jack Nicolo (U12).

Congratulations go to Jordon Nicolo, who took out the 2014 Best & Fairest Award in the U10 Red division and Adam Mucilli who was the 2014 Best and Fairest Runner up in the U12 Black division.

This is definitely the highlight of the year on the North Brunswick Junior Football Club's social calendar.

The NBJFC PRESENTATION DAY will celebrate the 2014 season and the club’s achievements.

Presentations will be made to all four teams, lunch will be provided, silent auctions and live auctions will take place.

As the main fundraiser for the year, Presentation Day allows the club to keep costs down for its members and contributes to the successful operation of all the teams.

We are looking to create a committee that will be responsible for everything from getting the auction items, to packing up at the end of the day.

NBJFC Positions Vacant

REGISTRATION MANAGER

The club is looking for a volunteer to work with Rob Aminde as the club’s Registration Manager for the rest of the 2014 season and for season 2015.

The role involves maintaining the club’s player and official registration and records.

On average, it will not take up more than 1 hour per week of your time. The peak times are at the beginning of the year where it may increase to 2.5 hours for about 4 weeks.

The volunteer will receive full training and access to the program.

PROPERTY ASSISTANT

The NBJFC club is looking for a volunteer to work with Rob Aminde as the club’s property manager.

The role involves looking after the club’s merchandise, jumper allocations and match day uniforms.

This generous and wonderful person, will be required to assist for the rest of the 2014 season and for season 2015.

On average, it will not take more than 1–2 hours per week.

Peak times are at the beginning of the new football season every year, where the commitment to the job may increase to 3 hours weekly, for about 4 weeks.

We really hope that someone from the parent group can step up and assist Rob.

After all, we are all in it for the kids.

NBJFC Awarded iPAD by AFL for Bronze Level Accreditation

In recognition of our recent Bronze Level Quality Club Accreditation, the AFL has donated an iPad to the NBJFC to acknowledge this achievement.

This iPad will be used on match day for pregame checks, pregame and post-game YJFL entries and incident reporting.

It is another great tool that we have at our disposal.

We are only one of six junior clubs, nationally, to be granted this honour by the AFL. A fabulous reflection of how far we have come in the last few years.

NBJFC Newsletter - ‘The Giants Gab’

It is with great pleasure that I can announce a new operative feature of the NBJFC website – the Newsletter.

The NBJFC Newsletter, ‘The Giants Gab’, will keep members up-to-date with informative and light-hearted content pertaining to current club issues via the website and email (coming very soon).

The aim is to produce a weekly newsletter during the football season and intermittent newsletters with relevant issues during the off season. The length will vary depending on what is happening around the club at the time of production.

Please remember the Newsletter concept is in its infancy stage and will require some tweaking before a regular format and content is successfully established.

Victoria Raptis and I are responsible for the production of ‘The Giants Gab’ and welcome any suggestions, ideas and feedback relating to the content.

Please note that some of the content in the first two issues will now be outdated, due to technical difficulties experienced in getting the Newsletter section of the website up and running. From Round 11 onwards, newsletters should be current.

Parent Help Required - Photos/Videos Needed

Hi everyone. I am in the process of updating the NBJFC FB page http://www.facebook.com/NBJFC & website.

In doing so, I have noticed a real absence of present & past photos on both sites. As I am attempting to create a pictorial history of the NBJFC, to be accessed online & archived for future use, I am putting out a call for any parent, or friend, who has taken photos or videos of their child &/or team on any given game day in the last few years, to be kind enough to PLEASE pass on appropriate images that can be used. The includes social gatherings/events organised by the NBJFC such as Trivia nights, Presentation days, Pizza nights, parent volunteers on duty etc - anything you deem to be relevant!

As a parent of a current U12 junior player, I have been uploading & sharing all of my photos quite willingly since our family joined this wonderful club last year. However, there is a huge disparity in the pictorial presence between the current U12’s & the other three junior teams – Tackers, U10’s & U14’s. I know there are photos floating around within our North Brunswick community somewhere – on a mobile phone? on a memory chip? or on a hard drive? ...

Our kids were put through their paces by Marc Murphy and Mac Pack’s, Emma and Frankie. They participated in fitness drills on everything from kicking, to posture, to stretching and most importantly, having fun and giving it a go!

Some of our boys were also interviewed by the Mac Pack crew, resulting in some humourous responses and antics.

Marc Murphy generously posed for photos, for one and all, and liberally signed autographs.

We extend a huge thank you to Marc Murphy and Mac Pack’s Emma and Frankie for visiting us at Allard Park and making the night a memorable experience for our boys. You couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces!

Mac Pack provided the NBJFC with a $200 grant to be used to purchase well equipped First Aid Kits for our away games.

2014 NBJFC Trivia Night Success

Our local community came together on Saturday, June 14, 2014 for our second annual Trivia Night, a benefit for the North Brunswick Junior Football Club.

The event was a huge success and we were able to raise vital funds to continue with our targeted club initiatives for this, and coming, seasons.

2014 NBJFC Photo Nights

It‘s that time of the year again … Club Photo Night!

In 2014, our club has expanded to four teams, thus necessitating the photography session to be separated over 2 nights.

The set dates for the Club Photos are:

Session 1: Tuesday 22^nd July - Tackers / Under 10’s

Session 2: Tuesday 29^th July- Under 12’s / Under 14’s

You will have the opportunity to purchase team, portrait, sibling photos and a combination of Team/Portrait – all at reasonable prices.

All players must be in attendance on the photo night, dressed in their match day apparel - even if there are not any purchases made.

The information sheets and order forms have been distributed at training. If you have not received your copy, please see your Team Manager.

All money must be paid in advance to Michelle Aminde, (Photo Night Coordinator), by July 19 for Tackers/U10’s and July 26 for U12’s/U14’s.

Bring A Friend Competition

This year we are having a bring a friend competition for all current players.

If the current brings a friend down to the club and the friend signs up for season 2014 they will go into the draw for a $100 Rebel Sport Gift Voucher.

The draw for the gift voucher will be drawn by Club President Joe Tropeano on Friday 4 April, 2014 after training.

These are vital funds for a growing club like ours and we appreciated Greg Cusack and his team coming on board.

If any North Brunswick Junior Football Club member or friend mention that they are part of the club and they sell their property with the professional team of Barry Plant Brunswick, they will donate to the football club an agreed percentage of the commission directly to the football club.

2014 - Registration Day

This year’s registration day is to be held this Sunday the 16 February 2013 between 9am and 12pm.

This year all returning players will be receiving a NBJFC hoodie and cap as part of their membership.

Any new 2014 players will be getting a club kit bag too.

In season 2014, the YJFL has made YJFL shorts a mandatory requirement for all clubs and their players.

The cost of the shorts will be $22 per pair and will be available registration day.

Please complete this year’s membership form in all areas and bring it with you on the day.

2014 - Training Announcement

The coaching committee has decided on commencing training on Friday 14 February 2014 at 5:00pm.

Training will then continue each Tuesday and Friday evening commencing at 5:00pm.

Could you please make certain that each of the players bring both runners and boots to each session as there may be some running during the pre-season.

2014 Coaching Position Nominations

As our normal practices, all team coaching positions have been declared vacant for season 2014.

We invite any parents, friends or relatives that are interested in coaching one of the sides for season 2014.

Our sides for next year will be Tackers, Under 10’s or 11’s, Under 12’s and Under 14’s.

If you are interested in getting involved with the club’s coaching team, please contact the club secretary Robert Aminde and he will provide you with the relevant documentation that needs to be completed.

Training nights after Christmas and for the season proper will be our normal Tuesday and Friday nights.

Shred-X Shredding Day

As a part of our commitment with Shred-X Document Destruction over the last three years, we have been able to obtain a free document destruction service from them.

As we just clocked over to the new financial year and many of us are preparing for tax time and getting rid of old documents and with more recent ones.

Do not throw your personal information out in the general waste.

With so many parents running their own businesses at the club, what a great opportunity to have a clean out!

On Sunday 14^th July 2013 (this week’s home game), Shred-X will provide all club members and their families the opportunity of bring their documents and they will be all securely destroyed Free Of Charge.

There will be a number of document destruction bins (orange) near the Shred-X van near the clubroom for you to deposit your documents within.

NBJFC Trivia Night

The NBJFC Trivia Night for 2013 has finally come and gone. Feedback from all was that they thoroughly enjoyed the night. Good to see all 9 tables batteling it out for bragging rights for 2013. Congratulations to the winners and also to those who had success in the silent auctions and raffles.

The NBJFC commitee would like to thank all who attended and offered their time to make the evening a success. All moneys raised on the night will of course benefit the club.

Tackers - North Brunswick vs Brunswick

Our tackers had a wonderful game against Brunswick after a cold and early start yesterday morning.
There was some great teamwork and the mix of younger and older boys is paying some great dividends. Greater game by all.

The Under 11's are now sitting clear on top by 3 games with the rest of the competition battling for the remaining 3 top 4 positions.
It was a really hard slog at Allard Park yesterday morning in very heavy conditions.
Bundoora put up a great effort and pushed our boys the entire 4 quarters.
We still have some improving left before finals.

Round 8 - Results

Tackers - Parkside vs North Brunswick

Under very muddy and wet conditions our young tackers team played dry weather football against Parkside this morning.
The team were very effective in keeping the ball in our half of the field and continued to drive the ball forward until the final siren.
Led by an efficient midfield, our forwards kicked accurately to drive home every advantage.
The Coach's game plan and rotations are paying great dividends.

The team had a hard fought victory this afternoon against another top 4 team.
With great work from the midfield, the team drew away in the second half to register their seventh victory for the year.
The boys are now 2 games clear on top of the ladder.

Shred-X Shredding Day

The Annual Shred-X Shredding Day has been scheduled for Sunday 14 July 2013.

All club members and families are able to bring their confidential documents along on Round 12 and have their information destroyed securely.

On the day, there will be secure containers available for you all to drop your documents off.

Shred-X is happy to offer our club members and their affiliate employers / companies great rates for any document destruction requirements.

Tackers - North Brunswick vs Macleod

What an effort by our Tackers team yesterday, it was by far their best perform of the year against Macleod. After a slow start the boys kicked some beautiful goals to show that the hard work being put in by the coaches is commencing to pay dividends.

The under 11's showed why they are on top of the ladder with another polished effort to defeat Greythorn.
The midfielders were very solid and having a focal point in the forward line was the difference between the two sides.

After a very slow start, the team came home strongly in the last quarter to run out of time.
The midfield finally got on top in the last quarter to lead the revival but we came up short by 10 points.

The Under 11's had an unexpected loss over the weekend.
The boys struggled to come to terms with the conditions and let through some easy goals which in the end cost them the game.
This loss highlights the evenness of the competition.
They will need to switch back on for this week's rematch against Richmond.

The team has now won four in a row and today they were never threatened from the first bounce.
Again it was an overall team effort with all players contributing to the victory over Hawthorn.
Rap Nick has taken this new team made up of last years tackers and under 11's and has made them into a very competitive unit.

NBJFC visits Carlton FC - 3/05/2013

The boys at Carlton FC kindly invited us to Visy Park. We took a tour of the clubs facilities. We played some fun games and spoke about important things such as the environment and particularly recycling. We also managed to score some autographs from the players at the end.

The Tackers played at Parkside over the weekend.
They tried very hard and there was some very good teamwork.
All the work the coaches are putting in is starting to bear some fruit.

Under 11's - Richmond vs North Brunswick

The Under 11's remain undeafeated for season 2013.
The team used the breeze well in the first quarter and the team withstood a challenge from Richmond in the second half to come out 12 point winners.
Again, all players played a significant role to achieve this victory.

There were many players, playing their first game of competitive football and they all did very well indeed. Not only did we give up height but also age with many lower aged players.

NBJFC Welcome Vic Health

*Message from the Treasurer/Secretary: Robert Aminde

It is with great personal pleasure that I can announce to the parents that the North Brunswick Junior Football Club has had our request for a grant approved by Vic Health for this season for $2000 for the purposes of improving our safety levels at the club.

It has been on my personal agenda for the last 3 years to get the club more equipment with the ultimate aim to have our own defibrillator and have parents trained in its usage (just in case).

This will now be able to be fulfilled through this generous grant.

The three sides were put through their paces under the watchful eyes of their coaches while some of the parents found some cool spots to watch proceedings.
The skill levels were pretty good in trying hot conditions.

2013 Registration Day - 10/02/2013

What great day was had on Sunday with our season's registration day which was held in the Allard Park Clubrooms.
All children and parents had a great time playing on the field, having something to eat and catching up for those who had not seen each other since last season.
It was fabulous to see so many new faces coming down and enquiring about the club, and our teams.
