Jim Muldoon

Former Curra Swans, South Townsville and AFL Townsville life member Jim Muldoon carved out a colourful career in Townsville and North Queensland after he arrived in Townsville in June 1960.
Over a 36 year period at different intervals Jim served the Swans (South and Curra) as Captain Coach, non playing Coach, Coach, Administrator and President. He played 142 Senior games and in later years 60 Reserve grade games. He finally hung the boots up at 41 years of age in 1976.
Jim also served the League as President, Team Manager, Selector, Rep Captain, Coach and as the League delegate at Queensland Country meetings.
He was also the NQAFA Secretary, President and co patron.
The Curra Swans home ground, Muldoon Oval, is named after Jim and the contribution he gave to the Swans and Australian Football in Townsville.
