Bakers Creek AFC have announced today the appointment of DALE EAMES as the Tigers Senior Coach for the 2017 AFL Mackay season.
Bakers Creek Football Manager Ian Rix said on the appointment of Eames: “We are rapt to have someone of Dale’s passion for coaching & the game to lead Bakers Creek next season.”
“Dale brings the added experience from playing in a premiership for an inner Melbourne club last season, where he was also an assistant coach.”
“Departing coach Ash Ryan has laid some solid foundations and left Dale with a developing list, which played finals after six years of rebuilding, & we believe Dale is the right mix of player & coach to take us to the next level.”
Eames said the following about his appointment and aims for the season ahead: “I'm tremendously excited about the opportunity to be involved at Bakers Creek Tigers, they have given me my first senior coaching gig & I will look to repay the favour with positive results on field in 2017.”
”Having come up to play in last seasons pre-season carnival I was able to see first hand how tight knit this football club is. The people behind the scenes are doing a tremendous job and the cohesion across both the men's and women's sides is incredible.”
“I think what I can bring to the club is a real optimistic mentality. One of my strengths is getting the best out of ones ability & instilling confidence to push their boundaries.”
“Strategically I've got some plans in place that will help strengthen the defensive side of our game, as well as being perceived as an exciting team to watch & that aren't afraid to take the game on.”
“I believe if the players want to buy in to the game plan & work hard together it could well be a pretty exciting time to be a Tiger & will be looking to pick up the momentum from this season under Ash & carry it into next year.”
“The committee have been really supportive & proactive organizing the 2017 Season Launch for Tuesday 22 November, with preseason training starts at 5.45pm on Thursday 24 November at Etwell Park.”
