EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN
LANCEFIELD JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB
JUNE 2011
Emergency Personnel: Trainers present at all Home and Away Matches.
Emergency Equipment: First Aid Kits are supplied to Trainers, which are kept with the Trainer on the ground.
Trainers Role
1. Immediate care of injured or ill player.
a. calm and reassure the victim
b. if player can be removed from the ground, remove to the first aid room for further treatment
c. have one person stay with victim if possible
Should an Ambulance be required
2. Activation of the emergency medical system
a. Call 000 - Trainer
i. provide name
ii. location
iii. telephone number
iv. number of individuals injured
v. condition of injured
vi. first aid treatment provided
vii. other info as requested
b. BE THE LAST TO HANG UP
3. Designate individual to “flag down” Ambulance and direct to the scene
4. Meet ambulance at Entrance to Park/Football Ground
5. Scene Control: limit scene to first aid providers.
Direction of Ambulance to Scene (Home Games)
When entering Lancefield park, veer right between club rooms and toilet block, First Aid Room on your right.
Away Games – give relevant information
NOTE: IF AN AMBULANCE IS REQUIRED AND THE INJURED PLAYER CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM THE GROUND, PLEASE HAVE COACHES AND OFFICIALS REMOVE ALL PLAYERS AND SPECTATORS FROM THE GROUND.
Training Nights: Trainers are not always able to be present on Training nights however a First Aid Kit is kept in Club Rooms. Should a child require immediate Medical Attention, please call an Ambulance and follow the procedure below. Should the injured player not be able to be moved to the First Aid Room, Coaches are to remove all players and spectators from the football ground.
