The 2017 Djerriwarrh Festival parade and Get Active Expo was a huge success for the MJFNC! We’d like to thank every player and parent that took part in the parade, and those who stayed on to assist at the Get Active Expo stand for the club. It was a very hot day, but we had an awesome time showcasing our club to the Melton Community. A very special thank you goes to Committee members and organisers Sue McLaughlin & John Lennon, as well as Mandy Cannon who did an amazing job kicking off our Get Active Expo activities.
We had representatives from U10c, U10a, U12c, U13 Junior Girls, U14c (Grand Final Team), 11 & Under Netball (Grand Final Team) & our 2018 U15 Youth Girls team march in the parade, with Lucy (Netball) and Archer (U10a) both being interviewed during the march up High Street and did the club proud hailing - Go BLOODS to finish off!
The Get Active Expo stand was setup to run some agility tests with a handball target a popular activity for both Football and Netball targeting. We had a steady flow of participants over the day and hope to see many of them come join the MJFNC for the 2018 season or in the near future! Our focus was on promoting our Under 9 Football and Female Football Programs in all age groups including - U13 Junior Girls, U15 Youth Girls and the U18 Youth Girls teams in 2018!
We cannot participate at these types of events without the generous support and participation from our players and members. We all have a heap of fun volunteering for the MJFNC, so please keep an eye out for future club and community events and get involved in your club!
