We’ve made it! The 2021 season is here. It is fantastic to see all the kids running around again, playing the sport they love. 2020 was a challenging year for everyone, and we are so grateful for all those that are returning to the club.
Firstly, I would like to thank a few people.
Carina and Mick Doolan have dedicated many years to the club. They have not just helped out but taken on major roles to keep the club moving forward. The club will miss you. The meetings however seem to be significantly shorter without you Mick.
Jason and Lainie Nitz. What can I say? In the last few years you have dedicated your lives to the club. Thank you Jason for taking on the role of President. You showed great leadership and organization. Your spreadsheets will live on forever as a guide for future committees. Lainie you made the role of netball coordinator look easy. Your knowledge of the game and what the club needed has played a significant role in building the netball side of the club. Thank you both.
Thank you Paul Murden for leading our football department. Paul will be taking a step back to coaching our under 15s side (which I’m sure the kids are ecstatic about). Brendon Johnson will be helping out in this role over the season.
Welcome to Lauren Boland, who has taken on the role of netball coordinator. It is a tough gig, and we truly appreciate that you have joined the team. She is also helping coach two of our netball teams.
Sponsorship is very important to small sporting clubs. The club would like to thank the following: Complete Kids, McDonalds Gisborne, PJs Pets, Riddells Creek Bin Hire, Mary-Anne Thomas MP, Sunbury Mowers, Foodworks Riddells Creek, Middy’s Airport West, and Raine & Horne Sunbury. We truly appreciate your support during a time when many are doing it tough. Please support those that support us!
The past year has been challenging and with it many changes to the sporting landscape. This season you will notice some changes, and we appreciate everyone trying to adhere to all restrictions in place. QR codes, social distancing, and hand hygiene are all part of the norm now. As guidelines change throughout the season, we will endeavor to keep everyone informed.
To all those that have volunteered to coach our teams this year. THANKYOU. These roles are vital to the development of our children’s sporting interests and achievements. We would love to see more parents volunteering. Whether it be game day roles or joining the committee. Without volunteers, we don’t have a club.
Let’s get out there and cheer our kids on. Enjoy every single moment!
