The Melton South U12's put on a great display of teamwork for four quarters to take out a hard and close encounter against Darley by 5 points.
All the boys put in a great effort, and really tried at every contest. The umpires nominated a well earned best on ground to Caleb Hobbins, but there were many winners on the day, and all the boys should be proud of the efforts they made. Every player contributed, many playing out of position for team balance with out complaint.
The last 5 minutes saw many tough contests as Melton South tried to maintain their lead, and Darley trying to get that elusive goal to take the final. A number of good marks at the end of the game saw an excited group of boys hold on for a magnificant win.
No one more stressed (during the game) or more excited (after the game) than the proud coach Sav Scalzo.
The boys celebrated back at the club rooms, with pizza and a replay of the game (thank you to Rob Mckenzie for the video) and then a parents v's kids match...
Well done boys you have made your Parents, Club, Coach proud.
