CLUB CODE OF CONDUCT
The PEGS Football Club Code of Conduct applies to all of our players, coaches, officials, volunteers, partners, members and supporters.
COACHES
All PEGSFC Coaches are required to sign the AFL Code of Conduct as part of their Level 1 Accreditation requirements to coach in the VAFA and this code of conduct applies to all.
PLAYERS
- Play by the rules – the rules of your club and the laws of the game
- Do not argue with an umpire or other official
- Control your emotions - verbal abuse of officials and other players will not be tolerated
- Be a team player – It’s a team game, treat it that way
- Treat all players as you would like to be treated - fairly
- Co-operate with your coach, the umpires and team-mates
- Play for your own enjoyment & too improve your skills
- The use of ugly remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability is not tolerated
PARENTS, SUPPORTERS & OFFICIALS
- Remember that you are there for the participants to enjoy the game
- Encourage participation, but don’t force it
- Teach that enjoyment is more important than winning
- Never ridicule mistakes or losses – supporters are there to support not downgrade
- Recognise all volunteers who are giving up their valuable time
- Never publicly criticise umpires – raise personal concerns with club officials in private
- The use of ugly remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability is not tolerated
- Lead by example and respect all players, coaches, umpires and spectators – physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated
It is the guiding principle of PEGS Football Club to encourage participation, be respectful of all people associated with the club and foster a caring and professional environment for the PEGS Community to prosper.
By registering with PEGS Football Club you immediately agree to abide by these principles. All players are expected to support the Club in it’s undertakings and encourage the Club to take any necessary disciplinary actions including the suspension and banning where warranted of any players, parents, coaches and or spectators for repeated or serious breaches of these Codes of Conduct.
