Positive start last night. 40 + took the track again with a number of new faces to kick off the campaign in 2012 in the heat.

Former player - Paul Bacash took the reigns of the fitness testing and was straight to work impressing on the group the importance of high end aerobic running and repeat speed.

The group was split into four teams by the coaching group which will build towards the camp in mid March. So make sure you see which team you are aligned to and rally around the other boys to get them along.

The outcomes are as follows:

Team 1 - 9 points
Team 2 - 11 point
Team 3 - 14 points (Andrew Frazer Best individual on track 3 points)

PEGS 1st XV111 Captain Drafted by Essendon

Congratulations from everyone at OEGFC goes out to PEGS Captain Elliott Kavangh on being Essendon's first pick (19th overall) in the AFL draft over night which was held in Sydney. Elliott overcame a number of injuries in the year to lead the side to an undefeated season and premiership win over Trinity in the AGSV competition and a near miss in the Sun Shield final against St Pats. Essendon are very excited to have the smooth moving midfielder join their ranks, head recruiter for the Bombers Adrian Dodoro said "He is a product of Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School and is an AIS graduate. He has been hampered by some injuries but is back to full fitness and we can’t wait to see him at the club for his first pre-season.” Elliott is a natural leader and the move to Windy Hill should be a far easier transition for the local boy than those moving up to Breakfast Point to join former Bombers coach Kevin Sheedy.
