The 2012 AGM was conduced on Tuesday the 20th of November at the East Malvern. An abbreviated web version of the AGM report is attached below.
We are please to announce three new Life Members of the club; Martin Kelliher, Peter Harrison and Michael Duggan.
At some clubs Life Memberships are thrown around like confetti. Not at De La Salle. A strict eligibility criteria is overseen by a committee who don’t take their responsibility lightly. To be inducted you must have made an extraordinary contribution over a long period and only the finest and most dedicated club people are rewarded with Life Membership.
This year we are pleased to announce three truly deserving inductees: -
1. Marty Kelliher
· Involvement with the club stretching over 30 years
· 80 games as a player
· De La Salle President for 3 years (09,10,11)
· De La Salle Secretary for 3 years - (86,87,88)
· Is current Vice President and has held various other committee positions over a long period of time
· De La Salle club appointed reserves umpire for several years including 2012
· De La Salle Reserves coach for 5 years
· Has been the club tribunal advocate since 2007
· Was part of the senior ‘stats’ team in 2012
· A volunteer member of the VAFA investigations committee
· Has held various other roles including team manager, and still acts in that role in a relief capacity
· Awarded VAFA ‘Certificate of Merit’ in 2012
· Many other unseen and thankless jobs far to numerous to mention
2. Peter Harrison
· As at the end of the 2012 season Peter has played 247 games for the club, which is 7th most games played of all-time.
· He started as a player at DLS OC AFC in 1999
· Senior Premiership player 2003
· Was joint Senior Best & Fairest winner in 2005
· Part of the Senior Leadership group that in 2005 was awarded the Presidents Trophy for outstanding service to the club
· Runner up Senior Best & Fairest 2004
· Reserves runner up Best & Fairest 2009 (joint)
· Senior Most Consistent 2001
· Has represented the VAFA at senior and U19 level
· Has been reserves captain for the past 3 seasons and is a two time Reserves premiership Captain (2011 and 2012) In addition it should be acknowledged that Peter has remained loyal to club and has remained on as reserves captain to nurture and develop young players when he could easily have expected and to play senior football at another club.
3. Michael Duggan
· As at the end of the 2012 season Michael has played 244 games for the club which is 8 most club games of all-time.
· He started as a player at DLS OC AFC in 1998
· Premiership player 2003
· Was joint Senior best & fairest winner in 2005
· Part of the Senior Leadership group that in 2005 was awarded the Presidents Trophy for outstanding service to the club
· Runner up Senior best & Fairest 2006
· Equal 3rd Best & Fairest and Most Improved 2004
· Senior Vice Captain 2005 & 2006
· Represented the VAFA at U19 level
· Reserves premiership player 2011 & 2012
They will be presented with their Life Membership certificates and properly acknowledged at the Life Members lunch at our first home game of the 2013 season.
