2012 Milestones
300 Glenn Wadley
In the scheme of his VAFA career Glenn has only been with De La Salle for relatively short time. He joined the club in 2007 where he has been a reliable member of the Club XVIII team that includes a flag in 2011. However prior to joining De La Salle Glenn has seen many years of action in the VAFA, primarily with Monash Blues though the early to mid 90s and then Monash Gryphons from the late 90s until 2006. Across 22 years in the VAFA Glenn has played reserves, seniors, under 19 and Club XVIII football. Glenn has been a fantastic clubmen at De La Salle and with the club now having a Super Rules team we think he will add that to his resume at some stage before finally calling it quits.
150 Michael Nankervis
Michael started with the Club in 2002. He has a long list of awards and achievements including an Under 19 Best & Fairest, 2 Reserves Best and Fairest and a Best First Year Player Award. He is also a multiple Under 19 and Reserves premiership player. Michael is versatile defender and on-baller who has provided outstanding service to the club.
150 Ben Oakley
Ben made his senior debut in 2003, the same year he finished runner up in the Under 19 Best and Fairest. He has been an integral part of the senior team since then. The reliable defender leads a young De La Salle defence and is rarely beaten. He is highly respected at his club and amongst the wider VAFA community.
150 Jarrod Moloney
After missing nearly all of the 2011 season and a big part of 2012 Jarrod played his 150th game in Round 14 with almost all of these games in the senior team. Jarrod started with the club in 2002 and in the same year won the best first year player award. He was senior premiership player in 2003, coaches’ award recipient in 2009 and VAFA representative in 2010. A skilful and courageous midfielder, Jarrod showed enormous commitment to return to senior football after a serious knee last year.
150 Tim Kovess
Tim is a tough and courageous midfielder known for his fierce attack on the football. Tim is an U19 and reserves premiership player, an U19 Best & Fairest runner up and has been awarded the Most Consistent Player in both U19s and Reserves. After battling on the fringes or a few seasons Tim has now become an established senior player.
100 Beau Hill
Beau Hill played his 100th club game in Round 1. He was an under 19 Premiership player in 2008 and has twice won the U19 coaches award. He also achieved that same award with the thirds in 2011. Beau is a reliable and hard working defender who is highly regarded as being a fantastic clubman.
100 Jacob Gotch
Jacob is one of the clubs most decorated current players. He made his senior debut in 2007 as an 18 year old and has represented the VAFA at U21 and U23 level. He is an under 19 Premiership player and Best & Fairest winner, 2009 Senior Best & Fairest and has several other B & F placing’s including runner up in 2012 and third in 2011.
100 Adam Kovarik
Adam is a 2 time U19 premiership player and in 2008 was the leading goal kicker in the Under 19 Premier Division. He was a Club 18 premiership player in 2011 and Club XVIII Best & Fairest in 2012. Adam is a strongly built key forward with very good hands and great goal sense.
100 Tyson Parker
Tyson is a four-time premiership player – 2 each with the Reserves and U19s. Coming of his best season he was rewarded with senior selection during the year and was runner up in the Reserves Best & Fairest. A versatile key position player with very good skills Tyson’s made his senior debut in Round 15.
100 Joel Phillips
Joel started with the juniors and won an U17 Best & Fairest in 2005. He is an U19 premiership player and in 2008 won the U19 most consistent award. He made his senior debut in 2009. Joel is highly skilled player who has battled persistent injury in recent seasons. For the first time in several years he was injury free, forcing his way back into the senior team and being an integral part of the Reserves Premiership this season.
100 Al Roberts
Al ‘Fruity’ Roberts played his 100th game for the club Round 12. A popular and loyal clubmen Al is a versatile key position player comfortable at either end of the ground. He started with club’s juniors and was a member of the U19 premiership team in 2007 and Reserves Premiership team in 2012. He was awarded the Reserves coaches award in 2012.
100 Daniel Close
Daniel Close played his 100th game in Round 15. Dan played his first senior game in 2005, was Senior Most Improved in 2007 and was a Reserves premiership player in 2011 & 2012. Despite battling constant injury over the last few seasons Dan has forced his way back into the seniors during the 2012 season and capped a fine season by winning the Reserves Best & Fairest.
100 James Crowe
A tough and courageous midfielder James is a two time U19 premiership player and was a key member of the 2011 and 2012 Reserves premiership teams and has also played a good number of senior games along the way. He was U19 most consistent in 2006, Reserves most consistent in 2010 and runner up in the Reserves Beat & Fairest in 2011 and Reserves Best Finals player in 2012.
100 Sam Pickett
Sam was Senior Best & Fairest winner in 012. He is one of the best forwards in the competition and certainly one of the most exciting. A brilliant high mark, ‘Frankie’ is almost unstoppable on his day. In addition to his marking and goal kicking feats Sam is known for his courage and attack on the football. A crowd favourite at De La Salle, Sam is an U19s premiership player, VAFA representative and senior leading goal kicker in 2009, 2010, 2011, & 2102.
100 Steven Hogan
Steve Hogan played his 100th game in Round 18. A tall and mobile utility Steve has terrific pace and stamina for a big man. A key member of the clubs strong reserves team Steve was an U19 premiership player in 2008.
