Coffey Ford will be the Dandenong Southern Stingrays major partner until at least 2014, it was announced today.
Coffey Ford first appeared on the Stingrays Guernsey in 1997 when the Dandenong Southern Stingrays relocated from Mordialloc to Dandenong to call Shepley Oval home. It was the first year of what was originally a two-year deal.
Coffey Ford was also the first local business to commit financial support towards the Dandenong Southern Stingrays and have continued to do so each year since.
Based on the mutual success of the partnership last year, both parties chose to extend and strengthen the relationship.
"We would like to acknowledge everyone at Coffey Ford and the way they have embraced the partnership with the Stingrays," said Region Manager Mark Wheeler.
“The Stingrays are extremely honoured to have such a high profile and well respected company like Coffey Ford continue as a major sponsor and join us to carry on the work with turning talented young footballers into potential AFL prospects, but more importantly fine young members of society for the next three years.
"It has been outstanding to have a local Icon business be with us from the start, and we are thrilled to be sharing the journey with Ford as we both strive to become leaders in our respective industries."
To be able to renegotiate and extend our partnership to a three year agreement, shows strong loyalty and confidence in the outcomes we can drive for each other."
Dealer Principal of Coffey Ford, Tony Barcellona, said the similar core values that underpinned both organisations, played a key role in strengthening the partnership.
"Coffey Ford and the Dandenong Southern Stingrays is an extraordinary counterpart," Barcellona said. “ Coffey Ford over the past few years has gone from strength to strength, whilst the Stingrays have produced a high number of players that have been drafted into the AFL.
"Both organisations have thrilling, unified teams, full of new talent, that are on the brink for success.
"We're thrilled to extend our partnership with The Dandenong Southern Stingrays to a three-year term. In that time, we know we're going to see both organisations do well."
End.
