The final chapter of the Dandenong Stingrays 2009 TAC Cup season was the annual vote count and presentation night held last weekend at the Dingley International.
The vote count saw bottom aged mid fielder-forward Luke Parker awarded the Stingrays Best and Fairest award for season 2009. Parker who is still only 16 years of age polled in 13 out of 21 games for a total of 138 votes to win by 17 votes. Parker had skipped away towards the end of the home away games but even with wonderful finals form the chasing pack of Levi Casboult, Ryan Bastinac, Dylan Roberton and Jarryd Amalfi could not close the gap leaving Parker clear on top.
Runner up was power forward-Ruckman and leading goal kicker, Levi Casboult who polled in 15 of 20 games with 121 votes and led the TAC Cup competition in contested marks. Then followed by mid-fielder Ryan Bastinac for his second third placing having tied for third in last years count with 118 votes from his 15 games played. Next on the list were defenders Dylan Roberton on 86 and Jarryd Amalfi on 75. Sixth overall was potential number 1 draft pick Tom Scully with 69 votes. Interesting to note that in the 20 TAC Cup games in the three seasons that Tom played with the Stingrays he polled in 18 of those games. Next was hard running defender James Hallahan followed by Gold Coast bound Matt Shaw then a trio of hard working mids in Madison Andrews, Will Petropolous and Mitch Hallahan.
