The weekend off hasnâÂÂt helped the jets as they slumped to their third successive loss to North Ballarat on the weekend.
The contest was tight early with the first score not being registered until the 15 minute mark of the contest. The Rebels made the most of their opportunities kicking 2.1 to the Jets 0.3 to lead by 10 points at quarter time.
This trend continued throughout the second and third quarters. The Rebels had a little more polish with their disposal going into the forward line which made it easier for their forwards to capitalise. Despite making the most of their opportunities the Jets were still a chance at 3 quarter time with the margin only 25 points.
The rebels came out hard at the start of the last quarter and kicked the first goal within the first minute to make it really hard for the Jets. Ballarat were relentless in the last quarter kicking 7.5 to 1.2 to run out convincing 64 point victors and the Jets to their third straight heavy loss in a row.
Trent McKenzie was impressive on his return from the AFL/AIS academy squad, while Dion Lawson, Matt Notman and Shannon Ball all battled well throughout the match.
