The Western Jets have returned to the winners list with a comfortable 8 goal win against the Eastern Ranges.
The Jets travelled to Box Hill City Oval for a traditional Saturday afternoon clash against the in form Eastern Ranges. In cold overcast conditions the Jets were able to make the most of their early opportunities to get out to an 11 point lead at the first change.
The second quarter saw the game open up a bit with both teams running and carrying the ball a bit more. Jets were able to extend their lead to an even 4 goals after kicking 5.3 to 3.2
The third quarter saw the game turn back into an arm wrestle. Eastern played some good footy but were unable to capitalise and were met with some good resistance from the Jets backline. Hartigan, Post and Fitzpatrick were rock solid in the air down back and Justin Morris was great at ground level to keep repelling and set the Jets up. The Jets extended their margin to 27 points by the last change.
The Jets controlled the last quarter and were able to run away with the game. In what turned out to be their biggest and one of their more consistent games for the season the Jets ran out winners by 48 points.
The Jets now face the toughest trip in the competition, a trip North to face the Murray Bushrangers in Shepparton on Saturday afternoon.
