The North Ballarat Rebels are proud to announce that 5 players have currently been rewarded the opportunity to attend this year’s AFL Draft Camp and State Screenings held in October.
40 of the 75 invitees to the AFL Draft Camp come from Victorian origin. A further 50 Victorians at this stage will attend AFL State Screening. The Draft Camp and State Screening nominations are purely based on AFL Club nominations and more numbers will be added before Draft Camp and Screening Sessions.
It is worth noting that there has been an increase in both Draft and Screening nominations from Victoria from the previous two years and that player’s playing with the Rebels can still be added to both the AFL Draft Camp and State Screening Sessions with outstanding late-season and finals football form.
As always, it’s important to point out that invitation to the Draft Camp and Screening Sessions does not necessary guarantee players to be selected in the NAB AFL National Draft or Rookie Draft. Each year, players have found themselves being drafted after being overlooked for invitations to both Draft Camp and State Screening.
Congratulations and good luck for the following Rebels currently invited to attend:
AFL National Draft Camp held at the AIS in Canberra between 30th Sept- 1st- October.
David Astbury (Tatyoon)
Andrew Hooper (Golden Point)
Josh Cowan (Daylesford)
AFL Victoria State Screening held in Melbourne on Saturday 3rd of October.
Marcus Darmody (North Warrnambool)
Oliver Tate (North Ballarat Football Club)
