North Melbourne youngster and former Eastern Ranges player Ryan Clarke has been named the Round 18 AFL Rising Star nominee.
Taken at pick 31 in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft, Clarke had 27 disposals, 12 contested possessions, four inside 50’s and three goal assists in his first win as a North Melbourne player last Friday night against Collingwood.
Making his debut in Round 16 against West Coast, Clarke, who has played three games at senior level this season has been more than impressive. In his previous two matches he has amassed 21 and 22 disposals to go with his 27 on Friday night, for a total of 70 from just three senior appearances, a rare feat that few others have achieved.
With the Kangaroo’s likely to receive a finals birth this season, Clarke will look to continue this form which should see him feature in finals football in 2016.
It is no surprise to anyone at the Ranges of the blistering start that Ryan has made to his AFL career; and we look forward to seeing him blossom into the champion AFL player that we are certain he will become.
