About the Eastern Ranges
Established in 1992, the Eastern Ranges Football Club (FC) provides young talented footballers with an opportunity to reach their ultimate potential in the sport of Australian Rules Football. The Eastern Ranges FC is based at Kilsyth Recreation Reserve, and currently plays in Victoria’s elite U18 football competition the TAC Cup. The club itself represents the Eastern Metropolitan Region of Victoria, which encompasses the municipal areas of Yarra Ranges, Knox, Maroondah and Whitehorse.
The role of the Eastern Ranges FC is to facilitate a number of elite footballing programs at various age levels in line with AFL Victoria’s talented player pathway model, with the ultimate aim of having its players selected to play in the AFL via the NAB National Draft. The Ranges is nationally regarded as operating one of the best footballing programs for young elite players Australia wide, having recently produced two of the last three Number 1 Draft picks in the AFL national Draft - Tom Boyd and Jonathon Patton. Just last year we were lucky enough to have Christian Petracca selected as the Number 2 Draft Pick by the Melbourne Football Club. This comes as a result of its proven history and success within the TAC Cup competition and its ability to produce AFL footballers. The club has also provided an unprecedented number of players to the nation’s elite competition, the AFL, having had 101 of its players drafted.
