How did you get into football: I used to do gymnastics and I was told to come along and have a go.
What have you enjoyed about it so far: Getting to know all the girls and learning how to play football.
Have you played any other sports: Gymnastics, but I quit that a little while ago.
Any achievements in gymnastics: I was the international development program and junior Australian champion in 2013 and 2014.
How come you gave it away: Because I fractured my back twice, or there was a hot spot, and that was enough for me.
AFL team: The Bulldogs.
Ambitions for this year: I want to make the Eastern Ranges (team) and do the best I can.
Name: Gabriella De Angelis.

Position: On the ball so a rover.
Junior club: Whitehorse Colts.

How long have you been playing for: Since Auskick so about six.
What do you enjoy about it: I have just loved the game since I was little and just meeting new people.
How did you get involved: Just through the school Auskick program and then I started playing with the boys until the under 12s and then I found the Whitehorse girls team.
Any achievements with your footy: Best and fairests in 2015 and 2016 in the youth girls.
AFL team: Collingwood.
Any ambitions with your footy for the year: I made the development Vic team in 2015 and that was one of best weeks of my life. I am now aiming to make the actual Vic team this year.
Name: Sophie Faulwetter.
Suburb: Castella.
Age: 17.
Position: Centre-half forward.
Junior club: Chirnside Park.
School: Mount Lilydale Mercy College.
How long have you been playing for: Last year was my first season.
What do you enjoy about it: I enjoy kicking with friends and having fun when we play.
How did you get involved: My friends got me into the domestic footy.
Any achievements so far: We got to the grand final last year but we lost.
Any aims with you footy this year: Not really, just to play my best and enjoy it.

Name: Belle Price.
Suburb: Yarra Junction.
Age: 17.
Position: Midfield/half-forward.
Junior club: Mount Evelyn.
School: Mount Lilydale Mercy College.
How long have you been playing for: Last year was my first season.
How did you get involved: I played school footy for a couple of years and I won MVP and best and fairests in those and I just enjoyed it from there. I thought I would give it a go at local level and here I am.
Any ambitions this year: I just want to improve as much as I can and get to know a lot of the girls and go as far as I can. Long-term, I want to make AFL Women’s.
Any other sports you’ve played: I have played basketball since I was six and I played rep for that.
What are your greatest sporting moments so far: Probably winning the Mount Evelyn grand final last year. It was a really good team environment and everyone came together, which was really good.

How long have you been playing for: Last season was my first.
How did you get involved: I played school football and I liked that. I did it for a couple of seasons then decided to join a girls’ team.
What have you enjoyed about it: Developing my skills, making new friends and having fun.
Any ambitions this year: I want to play a couple of games and develop my footy.
Achievements along the way: I played in the North Melbourne Academy – the Next Generation Academy – played interleague and won school best and fairests.

Name: Imogen Ball.

Position: Rover.
Junior club: Knox.
School: John Monash Science School.
How long have you been playing for: I started playing last year.
How did you get involved: I was going to join the girls team for Knox but my brother’s team needed a fill-in so I ended up playing with the boys last year. I enjoyed it and ended up playing with them for the whole season.
What have you enjoyed about it so far: I think just meeting new people and playing a different game because I haven’t played footy before.
Any ambitions you have this year: Just to do the best I can and see where it takes me and hopefully make AFL one day.
Any achievements along the way: I got best player in interleague for Eastern and I got best player in the finals.
Greatest sporting moment: I’ve won a few grand finals.

Name: Sarah Kendall.
Suburb: Croydon.
Age: 17.
Position: Ruck.
Junior club: Knox.
School: Luther College.
How long have you been playing for: I played from 2015 with East Ringwood and then Knox in 2016.
How did you get involved: I used to play basketball and then word went around women’s football was going off and I wanted a piece of it.
What have you enjoyed about it: Probably just the game, it is much different to basketball and it is really unique. It is different, I thought I would never play it when I was a kid.
How far do you want to take your football then: AFL Women’s would be the ultimate goal.
Any ambitions you have this year: Probably just to perfect my skills.
Any sporting highlights so far: Winning the East Ringwood grand final against Bayswater in 2015.
