Paddy Dow, Tom Campbell, Angus Schumacher and Darby Henderson have been choosen to be part of the Vic Country U/17 Academy. The boys will represent Vic Country V Vic Metro on Sunday, August 7 at Ikon Park Carlton. All 4 boys have had terrific seasons and this is great reward for their form and general hard work. Campbell has done particularly well despite being hampered by a serious ankle injure sustained in the round 1 loss to the Murray Bushrangers.
Paddy Dow has been terrific in the games that he has played for the Pioneers and he would certainly be aiming to be a part of the Vic Country squad in 2017. Dow, an explosive mid fielder from Swan Hill currently attends Geelong Grammar. Angus Schumacher has also been a consistent performer switching between the mid field and key positions. His experience playing senior football at Strathfieldsaye has been the perfect preparation for his game.
Darby Henderson has been one of the best performers for the Pioneers with the highlight being his 38 possession game V Murray Bushrangers through the mid field. He has also spent time in the back half over the past few weeks. Henderson is from Echuca football club and he will be aiming to take further steps with his career in this game.
The Bendigo Pioneers are proud of the boys efforts.
