Gippsland Power boasts two All Australians at National titles
Nar Nar Goons Lachlan Hansen and Stony Creeks Robert Eddy have added to their CV's by being selected in the All-Australian team at the recent national under-18 titles.
Eddy, 18, was in good form, mainly in the midfield, and Hansen, 18, was given the job on some of the best opposition players in the country as Victoria Country finished runner-up to Victoria Metropolitan at the 2006 titles played in Melbourne and Geelong.
In spite of missing games through injury prior to the carnival, both Hansen and Eddy took on a key roles and did a wonderful job to play three intense games in eight days.
The fact that Hansen was injured in the second game and only passed fit by the State and All Australian Doctor Greg Shuttleworth, adds testament to his desire to succeed at this level of football.
Eddy was given a free run in the midfield and was responsible for setting up many forward thrusts.
Whilst considered unlucky by many to miss out on All Australian team congratulations must go to Jeff Ryan who was awarded the most valuable player of the team as voted by his peers.
Ben Ross another to miss a number of games before the carnival aquitted himself very well by being named in the best players in two of the three games he played, whilst Ricky Delphine amassed his usual multiple number of possessions in each of the games. After missing the first game against Western Australia Jaymie Youle seized his opportunity and showed he could step up and perform well at this higher level.
