Gippsland Power’s eventful pre-season has continued, with the club securing its major sponsor, GDF SUEZ Loy Yang B, for a further five years.
The club and power station signed the deal last week, with Loy Yang B to maintain its naming rights over the under 18 team.
The funding will assist the club with the purchase of uniforms and training gear, provision of a mini-bus, a fuel subsidy for parents who drive the players to and from training and matches, food for the players on training nights and the maintenance of facilities.
Some of these funds are also earmarked to assist with a proposed new hydro pool development at the Power’s state-of-the-art facilities at the Centre for Excellence within the Morwell Recreation Reserve.
Loy Yang B Head of Operations and Generation, Steve Rieniets said Loy Yang B had been a sponsor of the club since 1997 and was pleased to continue the partnership for a further five years.
“We are proud to continue our involvement with Gippsland Power, which has spanned 16 years, including the last five years as naming rights sponsor,” he said.
“The dedication, professionalism and work ethic of everyone involved in the club is second to none, which is evident by the success of the team in recent years and the number and calibre of players who have been drafted to AFL clubs.
“We wish the boys all the best for the 2013 season”.
Gippsland Power Talent Manager Peter Francis said “the Club is absolutely thrilled to have Loy Yang B back on board for a further five years thereby extending the generosity and support afforded over the past fifteen years. I have no doubt that Loy Yang B have made a very substantial contribution to our success over that time and I believe that Gippsland Power would not be in the position that we currently enjoy without their support. The Centre Of Excellence is a facility envied by all of the other TAC Cup clubs but it would not have come into existence without Loy Yang B’s sponsorship and belief. Because of the extension of the sponsorship we can now proceed to add a rehabilitation centre to complete the facility”.
