League and Reserves News
This season the Senior group is fielding a league team on Saturday in the WAAFL and a Reserves/Colts team on Sunday in the Metro Football League.
The League team notched up its third win of the season on Sat beating Nollamara to remain unbeaten on top of the table with a 20 goal 8 - 128 to 4 goal 6 – 30 win.
The Stingers were able to punish Nollamara on the turnover. Our mids were dominant, backs strong and the forwards busy with 18 year old Jackson Zanoli, one of the many Stingers former juniors, kicking 9 goals.
Calum Anderson had the ball on a string while John Oregioni, Daniel Rogers and Shane Weston were amongst the best.
The Ressies played Queens Park on the Sunday and recorded a stirring 23 point victory.
Kicking with the breeze in the first quarter, the Stingers skipped out to a handy lead before Queens Park reeled the lead back to a goal at quarter time. A big second quarter for Queens Park saw them take a 10 point lead at half time. A dominant third quarter saw the stingers back in front with an eight point lead at three quarter time before extending the margin against the breeze in the last to 23 points
16 year olds Jack Walker and Shane Adams looked at home against there older opponents While Clem Jones , Mitchell Hind, Kyal Ogilvie-Oneil and Zac Smith played terrific games.
This week the league team plays Ocean Ridge at Stan Twight starting 2.30 while the Reserves have a bye.
Supporters are encouraged to come down and watch the Stingers try and keep their unbeaten streak going.
Umpire Wanted
Our League team is seeking a club umpire for our Sat games.
The person doesn’t have to be accredited, just needs to have knowledge of the game. Payment is about $100 a game so if you or someone you know has a free Sat arvo and would like some extra cash, Ring Richard Dodson 0438954523.
