Led by Mike Gould with 9 goals, the Saints showed their best preformance of the year to run out comfortable winners 20.18-138 to 12.7.79
The Saints dominated the early play but were once again inaccurate in front of goals having nine scoring shots to four to trail by five points at the first break.
The Kangaroos looked to make their move during the second term to get out to a 16 point lead but three late unanswered goals from the Saints gave the home side a two point lead into the main break.
An eleven goal to one third quarter saw the Saints at their scintillating best as they absolutely obliterated the Roos premierships hopes as they opened up a match winning 55 point lead at the last change. Chris Whitton starring in the premiership quarter with four majors.
The last quarter was an even affair with both teams booting three goals a piece but by then the horse had bolted and the result was beyond doubt
Young Saints Hamish Bird, Mitch Black and Toby Tollis impressed all day with the unsung backline, led by Jono Elphick, Pete Dunlop and Matt Harrison, once again holding strong and dampening many Kanagroo surges.
Mike Gould was accurate in front of goal, booting nine, and will go into the Grand final with renewed confidence
It's the seventh consecutive grand final for the Saints and that is an achievement in itself and the boys will be confident of a good showing after their Prelim final performance.
The New England Nomads will be a tough assignment in Armidale as they strive for back to back premierships. They're at home, lost only one game this season and are raging hot favorites. But Grand Finals can throw a few spanners in the work. We hope there'll be a toolbox full of spanners in Armidale on Saturday.
Good luck boys!!!!!! The Club and the town are proud of you and 100 % behind you as you strive for the Saints third premiership flag
