The Inverell Saints will hit the road in the second of 4 consecutive weeks away from Inverell to tackle the Gunnedah Bulldogs. The Saints will travel with close to a full complement of players for almost the first time all year and will take on a Bulldogs outfit that are full of confidence after taking down ladder leaders the Swans last week.
The Saints also had a good win a week ago, taking the Nomads to the sword early in their game and not letting them back into the game. They will need to produce something similar to come away with the 4 points. Peter Heath and Shaun Mansbridge will still be missing, however Mick Viney and Justin Pay will both return to a forward line that worked well together last weekend. A feature of the play was the unselfish nature of the forwards, who gave up many scoring opportunities in order to set up those in better positions.
The defensive line will once again be led by Captain Matty Harrison, with Darren Pithers listed to start at full back again after an impressive display in Armidale. Tom Williams was also good last week and will look to continue his return to the team with another solid display. Joe Kimmince will get the ruck duties, and after starring when these two team met last, will look to continue his rich vein of form.
The match hinges as one of the biggest for the Saints all season, with a win putting either side into the top 2, and a loss has them petering on the edge of the four. All the indicators point to another cracker, with the game starting at 2pm at Wolsely Oval in Gunnedah.
