The Inverell Saints will take on the table topping Tamworth Swans this Saturday at Varley Oval in the Match of the Round in Round 7 of the Country Energy TAFL. The Saints are currently on a four match winning streak, going back to their Round 2 loss against the Swans in Tamworth. The Swans however have not lost since Round 1, so one of these two teams will see their run come to an end this weekend. Last time out between these teams saw the Saints completely destroyed by the Swans, who dominated from start to finish and inflict the second biggest loss of the Saints' history.
The Saints have improved alot since that match, started to put together some good combinations under the guidance of Coach Darren Bailey. They will once again enter this match with a few changes, but with the core of players remaining unchanged. Jack Lawton will be missing with prior committments, as will Beau Ryan who broke his nose in last week's win. The Saints will regain the service of Ben Lee after his swine flu scare, who will slot into the backline and add some height to help counter the Swans forwards.
The match promises to be a great one, with the two form teams of the TAFL battling each other. A win for the Saints will see them tie it up at the top of the ladder, however a loss could see their hopes of a minor premiership go up in smoke. The match starts at 2pm with all welcome.
A quick reminder that the little Saints will host the Tamworth Auskickers at a Gala Day starting from 11.30am. All welcome to come along and support our future AFL stars.
